god I just. love ruthlessness as a character trait so much. sexy sexy sexy
this one. absolutely in love with this definition. give me a character who thinks like this and I’ll love them to pieces
I think it's important to know that this quote is about Marco from Animorphs realizing he can cause a major blow to the Yeerk Empire by killing his deeply beloved mother. And he nearly does it too and is only stopped by another character physically intervening.
To Hell and Back by Sabaton would make a fire field show and I wish I were talented enough to design one
NEW CONLANG VID LESSGO
the scariest thing about old tv isnt really the racism or the sexisim because you kinda go in braced for that it's all the scenes where suddenly an actress is holding a lion cub or a chimpanzee is in the same room as a toddler, or suddenly theres a lion, or there's a chimpanzee again but it's driving a car, or holding a lighter, or holding fireworks. You just kind of watch in horror as over and over an actress performs with only 1960s tv film shootings best animal handling between her and the opening to Nope.
This is how I learn that the famous chimp my dad got my nickname from tried to kill Reagan. Fuck yeah.

The beginning of the end for every digital artist
how do you pronouns an italic
you have to lean a bit, with your body
what's your favorite phoneme?
@favorite-phoneme-creature
I suppose palatalisation isn't a phoneme by itself, so if I have to chose an actual single phoneme, then /ʎ/. I know it's not technically phonemic in Frisian, but the word ljocht /ljoxt/ "light" is my 'cellar door' I just think it's so beautiful
if you've seen my header image, you might've expected the answer to be /ʕ/. but that's in there because of how it was described in E.D. Reymond’s Introductory Lessons in Aramaic ; a truly magnificent (non-)description of a phoneme which has lived in my head rent free since I read it over a decade ago :
smash or pass: the concept of language isolates
pass because i headcanon them as sex repulsed
Hey. Why isn’t the moon landing a national holiday in the US. Isn’t that fucked up? Does anyone else think that’s absurd?
It was a huge milestone of scientific and technological advancement. (Plus, at the time, politically significant). Humanity went to space! We set foot on a celestial body that was not earth for the first time in human history! That’s a big deal! I’ve never thought about it before but now that I have, it’s ridiculous to me that that’s not part of our everyday lives and the public consciousness anymore. Why don’t we have a public holiday and a family barbecue about it. Why have I never seen the original broadcast of the moon landing? It should be all over the news every year!
It’s July 20th. That’s the day of the moon landing. Next year is going to be the 54th anniversary. I’m ordering astronaut shaped cookie cutters on Etsy and I’m going to have a goddamn potluck. You’re all invited.
Hey. Hey. Tumblr. Ides of March ppl. We can do this
Hell yeah moon holiday
Ooh coming up we should celebrate
PITCH: We call it Moon Day, and then every 7 years when it falls on a Monday, that's an even BIGGER deal and we call that Moon Day Monday and go absolutely apeshit about it (the next Moon Day Monday is in 2026 so we have a couple trial runs first)
MOON DAY MOON DAY MOON DAY
moon day is 20th July!!!
Scheduling this a day earlier to remind you all and myself about the Moon Day tomorow!
Happy moon day to all who celebrate
This is your reminder to prep for Moon Day on July 20th.
OH HEY, THATS TOMORROW

I’m thinking about something I last saw where I was five and I don’t even know if it was real. It was on KCET, right around the time of evening the PBS kids block would end. It was maybe December 2003. One night there was this movie? Thing? It was about as well animated as your average Barbie movie from the time, so idk what to exactly call it. But the main character was a flying elephant thing. It’s snowing and she flies around and at some point turns off some snowman looking things ice maker. Then he sends his icicle men out to attack her. Mom turned off the tv at this point because it looked “too beneath you” or something
It was computers animated and the elephant had wings and did a little flippy dance at the start I think
I must know what this was!
I’ve looked on KCET’s broadcasting schedule from around the time and haven’t seen anything that could be it, though I did find another thing I was looking for (Jakers, that show where Mel brooks was a sheep for some reason). Anyone know what I’m talking about though?
Herding sheep, looking after kids, and playing healer in videogames: every day you're surprised of the sheer innovative genius of how they'll find the most inconvenient goddamn places just outside your reach to get hurt or put themselves in lethal danger.
Isn’t this sheep in real life?
Children in real life also.
It. It literally did. That was literally precisely the point.
I have no idea how the hell I could possibly express myself more clearly.
The humble Oxford comma
IT'S LITERALLY RIGHT THERE.
