I'm just as confused as you are

Jackson, Lydia, the Argents, and the Hales are pretty well off. Danny isn't as rich but he's still middle class comfortable.

Boyd, Erica, and Isaac are from less well off families but they get used to Derek buying things for them.

Meanwhile Scott and Stiles are still just poor.

Scott has a job and makes his own money but he still spends most of it helping his mom. What little he has left, he spends on Allison.

Stiles' dad won't let him get a job so he can focus on school. He used to tutor sometimes but only when he was saving up for someone's birthday. Then when all the supernatural stuff started he was too busy to do that.

I just imagine that there's a new big bad in town and they need magic stuff to defeat it, so Derek gives his card to Stiles and has him go buy whatever magical supplies they need.

Stiles ends up going all around town for herbs and things and eventually one of the stores is in a mall or something and at this point he's super hungry. He has to pass through the food court on the way out and gives in to his hunger.

He stops at McDonald's and is only planning on buying a burger from the dollar menu but the cashier tells him that they have a special going on and he can upgrade to a large meal and save $2, so he gets the meal.

It's only 5 bucks and some change but then the cashier asks him if he wants to round up to $6 for St. Judes charity and he doesn't want to seem like a bad person so he does that too.

He moves to the side as he waits for his food but then he starts talking to the cashier(he's the only one in line). Eventually she tells him that she's saving up her tips so she can buy a new backpack for her younger sister.

She tells him about how her sister was upset about only getting hand-me-downs and wanted a new backpack for school but their parents couldn't afford it.

He gets his food and tips her $5.

When he gets back to the loft he hands Derek his card back and anxiously mentions that an extra charge might come through on his card.

Scott immediately turns toward them and looks concerned.

Derek tenses up and says, "How much."

Stiles bites his lip like he doesn't want to say but Derek gives him the judgy brows so Stiles just hangs his head and announces, "Eleven dollars...".

Scott gasps. "Eleven dollars!? Dude...."

Stiles is just like, "I know, I know, I didn't mean to.." he quickly stumbles through an explanation and ends it with, "I'll pay you back, I'm sorry."

Scott is disappointed but doesn't want Derek to kill his best friend so he jumps in and offers to pay for it.

"I get paid on Friday, I can pay you back then..." He turns to look at Derek and gives his best puppy eyes.

Stiles just stays with his head down, fiddling with his fingers.

Everyone else in the room is a mix of confused and amused.

Derek is mostly confused, and is like "It's fine. You don't have to pay me back. It's just eleven bucks."

Stiles' head pops up and both him and Scott give Derek matching shocked faces.

"JUST!?" Stiles is guffawed.

Jackson pipes up. "You know he's like super rich right?"

Scott and Stiles turn to him with confused looks.

Peter steps in super casually. "Anything less than fifty dollars doesn't even count as an expenditure."

Stiles and Scott look at each other equally baffled at that statement.

The richer parts of the pack are equally as baffled that anyone thought eleven bucks was a lot. Erica, Boyd, and Isaac are a little more understanding but still very amused.

After that the pack start spending money on each other a lot more. At first they mostly spend it on Stiles or Scott just to see the anxious look in their eyes but then it gradually shifts to spending it on everyone.

Also after that incident, Allison realizes how meaningful it is for Scott to pay for most of their dates despite not having a lot of money and starts trying to pay instead. They have many arguments over it but also fall more in love with each other every time.

Derek endlessly showers Stiles in gifts to prove to himself that he can provide for his mate. As soon as Stiles looks at or even mentions something, Derek immediately buys it for him. Stiles is very annoyed by this but equally as grateful for it.

He tries to give back to Derek by doing things for him like cooking and cleaning but Derek misunderstands and thinks that Stiles figured out his feelings and is accepting his courtship.

I love that Jude isn't love-struck and following Cardan like a puppy. I am glad she's not constantly talking about how "hot" he is and she is not instantly in-love with him. She is her own person with ambition and is willing to actually do what it takes to get what she wants. She doesn't only think about it or have it suddenly handed to her, she acts on her desires and achieves them. Frequently getting hurt in some way in the process, too.

Cardan has genuine cruelty that he isn't afraid to lean into, genuine vulnerability and the ability to fully admit it without making excuses. He isn't physically domineering and built so big he can't fit in a doorway. He's a spoiled little pretty boy.

These two were backstabbing each other and pissing each other off constantly. They were taunting and threatening and angry. They were frustrated. They were disgusted. The hate between them was real and mutual.

The Folk of the Air trilogy isn't a one-sided 'MMC is shitty and abusive to the soft, loving FMC but he's really been a good guy all along and he's loved her since before she was even born and all the hate they felt was sexual attraction because of a mating bond created by the stars' story.

And by that I mean:

When Sam when to Stanford and John started leaving Dean alone for longer periods of time Dean was like “wait this is my perfect opportunity >:)” without John breathing down his neck he went on a sexuality journey. And because he’s Dean Winchester obviously it was either go big or go home. So he went big.

And that’s how the Cartwright Twins happened.

And ever since then he hasn’t outright told anyone he was bi but he doesn’t keep it a secret and it’s kinda super obvious

Except it would be super funny if Sam just didn’t realize and tried to have a conversation with him about it..

And Dean goes “bro I’ve been screwing dudes since I was like 22”

And ofc Sam is like wtf and so Dean clarifies and that’s how Sam finds out he had a fling with just about every man they’ve ever hunted with.

(Sam almost loses his mind when he founds out about Benny…)

And also that he’s marrying Cas in September.

(Sam almost passes out at that)
