"Got everything?" Dean shouts down the hall.
"Yes!" Castiel shouts back.
"Pie? Sandwiches? My other pie?" Dean asks as he rounds the corner to the living room.
"Yes, Dean. I've got everything in this little basket you made me take."
"Alright. That Crowley guy on the news says it's gonna be overcast. Lemme just call Sam and Bobby; make sure they're gonna meet us there still."
As Dean is on the phone, Castiel grabs Dean's fluffy blanket haphazardly thrown over the back of their couch. Hanging up his flip phone, Dean nods to Castiel indicating everything is set.
As they get in the car, Dean is very excited to share his first picnic with now live-in boyfriend Castiel. Happy and nervous at the same time, Dean floors Baby through the winding roads up the hill to their nearby lake. This will also be the first time Castiel will meet Bobby.
Even though Dean is singing along with his classic rock tunes and has a smile on his face, Castiel gently holds Dean's free hand, "It's okay to be nervous, Dean. I am too."
Squeezing his hand a bit, Dean lets out a long breath, "Thanks, Cas."
"I've seen Bobby's pictures, I've talked to him over the phone. I am pretty sure we will 'hit it off' as you keep saying."
"Please don't do air quotes while still holding my hand, babe."
Dean still does not let go of his hand until they park.
Seeing Bobby's beat up car, Dean takes one last breath and gets out the car, Castiel following.
"Bobby! Sammy!" Dean hugs each of them. Stepping aside, he gestures to Castiel, "Bobby, this is Cas. Uh, Castiel."
Bobby extends his hand, "Nice to finally meet you face to face, son."
Nodding, Castiel takes a small step back as Dean claps his hand, "Alright! I got pie, Cas brought some sandwiches. Sam?"
As Dean hurries to his trunk to get out his blanket, he feels something hit his head. Touching his hair, he looks up at the tree, confused when no bird to blame is there. Shrugging it off, he lays down his blanket near a picnic table that the rest of the guys are placing things on. Feeling the drops picking up, Dean looks up as rain starts to snake through the branches and leaves.
"Oh, son of a bitch! What the hell. Stupid ass Crowley! 'Gonna be hot as hell' my fuckin' ass!"
Sam and Bobby start packing up the beer, plates, and utensils they just brought out as Dean hurries up shielding his pie with his chest as he gently sets it in the trunk.
Coming back for the sandwiches, he notices Cas smiling on his blanket, face in complete bliss as the soft rain continues hitting his face. Huffing a laugh, he shakes his head as he walks towards him, "Cas? Whatcha doin'?"
"Well, Bobby and Sam are gonna get goin'."
Standing up quickly, he makes his way over to them to say his goodbye.
"I'm sorry we did not have more time, Bobby."
"We will, son. Obviously, today is not the day for me. Don't really like the rain."
As Dean comes to say his goodbyes as well, they both watch them drive off.
Going back for his blanket, Cas stops him, "I love the rain. Can we stay just a bit longer?"
