Not lost, even in the dead of night (I can make it out alright)

(Title from The Ride by Rafał Brzozowski for bonus points)
When he said he was going to take Cas for a ride he genuinely meant in the car, clothes on, just get out of the bunker for a bit. Drive around date night kind of vibes.Â
It did start that way in all fairness, just them and the night air, not needing to say much to enjoy each other’s company. It’s like so many drives they used to have only laden with more now. Maybe it’s that more that makes him reach out.Â
He’s got one hand on the wheel, the other alternating between the gear stick and Cas’s hand, absently playing with his fingers until he has to let go to change gears or a corner before immediately latching on again. The first time, Cas just leaves his hand, waiting like he knows Dean will be back as soon as he can. After that it becomes routine.Â
He’s not sure where they’re driving or for how long. It’s just nice to be doing something known and simple and quiet. Having space to just breathe, just be. It’s not that it’s rare that they get time together. They’ve gone on hunts just the two of them and are basically inseparable if they’re home at the same time but this feels more deliberate. Outside of work or the Bunker walls. Deliberation in picking each other, in doing something together, even when it’s simple. But driving for hunts doesn’t feel like this: laden with an energy both thick and wonderful at the same time. He kind of wants to drown in it.
At some point, he drives down a dirt road surrounded by a thick thatch of trees, only moonlight and instinct guiding their way. He’s not sure why he drives down this way or why he stops except for a feeling that’s building between them. He’s been leisurely letting it build between them since they first hit the road and now he just puts the car in park, kills the engine and plays with Cas’ hand in the silence.Â
Cas just turns to him, contemplating or counting his freckles or something. He’s been known to do both and Dean’s getting used to it happening with more deliberation nowadays. Not holding back from looking or touching. It’s not foreign, they’ve both been doing it for as long as they’ve known each other, but it feels different now. They’re not covering it with jokes or looking away before they get caught. Now Cas can just look and Dean will let him, happy to be the centre of Cas’s world and let the peace that brings him settle into the very marrow of his bones.Â
Dean reaches out with his other hand, gently cups Cas’s face and draws him for a kiss. It’s like a buzzing in his veins that only settles after that, indulging in slow, lazy kisses.Â
Maybe some other day they’d have left it at that, with the best of intentions and a quiet, late night drive. But maybe it’s the buzzing in his ears or the cicadas buzzing outside, the trees blocking out the rest of the world making it feel like they’ve driven somewhere no one else has ever been. His hand clutches tighter around Cas’ jacket and that’s it, some kind of turning point or invitation.Â
Next thing he knows, Cas has climbed over the console and into his lap and there’s no space for them like this, but he doesn’t care. He’s in his favourite place on Earth with his favourite person and nothing else matters.Â
Cas presses closer, grinding down and he moans at the friction. He could be content to just lazily make out but there’s too much heat now, and all of a sudden it’s not enough.Â
He’s about to ask but Cas beats him to it, vanishing their clothes in an instant. The sudden leather on his skin is cool but Cas is hot pressed against him and that’s all that matters. Cas produces lube from somewhere and honestly Dean’s not sure if it’s conjured from thin air or sneakily planted already but either option is as hot as the other.Â
Cas is as impatient as he feels, slicking up his own hand and reaching back and there’s nothing Dean can do but watch and marvel and suck a bruise over Cas’ collar bone. There’s no words needed, just the urge to get his mouth wherever he can reach, biting and sucking until Cas either gets impatient or decides he’s ready enough. There’s a bit of shuffling, and cradling Cas’ head so he doesn’t bash it against the roof of the car and then he’s sinking down, groaning when he’s fully sat on Dean’s dick.Â
There’s barely any room to move but it doesn’t matter. It’s hot and sweaty in the tiny space between them, body heat steaming up the windows until the outside world fades away even more until everything just comes down to Cas grinding down on him, tight heat and broken gasps. Dean’s just along for the ride and he doesn’t care, just basks in the sight of his boyfriend just chasing his own pleasure like this. He holds Cas tighter, one hand in his hair and the other on the small of his back, kisses breaking apart to moans.Â
There’s nothing but the sound of skin and moans until Cas is gasping out his name, a one word plea for more. He gets his hand from Cas’ back, snakes it between where their bodies are pressed together and gets a hold of his boyfriend’s cock, thumb gathering precome and using it to ease the slide as he jerks him off. Somewhere in the groans there’s each other’s names falling like prayers.Â
Really, there’s no room for them to do this but they’re making it work, short choppy movements and making up for it with deep kisses, clinging to each other until they’re almost one person. He can feel his orgasm building and leans in to bite over the deep mark he’s left on Cas earlier, burying his scream into his collarbone. Above him, Cas groans, deep and inhuman and spills between them.Â
In a moment it’ll get uncomfortable, the rapidly cooling sweat and spunk sticking to them and his legs will protest in the space, but it’s okay. He knows in the moment after that that Cas will clean them up, get their clothes back from where he’s vanished them and let Dean drive them home. He knows Cas will massage out his knee as much as he can on the drive back, that they’ll park the car and collapse into bed. Knows they get to go home and sleep like that, tucked up safe and warm in their bed.Â
But that’s to come now. For now he just gently kisses over the bitemark, until Cas demands an actual kiss. It’s just them in a warm embrace and although he’ll have to let go, he doesn’t want to just yet. Not quite yet.Â
