its not even that i necessarily see all these characters as trans, exactly, but like. given the nature of spongebob squarepants as a series, assuming they're canonically cisgender is absurd considering it's literally exactly as much a headcanon as the idea that literally any character is transgender. especially considering the fact that sexes of many sea creatures do not correspond 1:1 with our human reproductive sexes to begin with, therefore making it actually impossible for these characters to be cisgender as we understand it?
