Spock is not listening
I got that new Switch game everyone’s been playing and couldn’t help but make Jack and Stephen.
They aren’t in love yet but I have no doubt they will be soon!
I gave Jack a sword
And I’m giving Stephen every weird little creature I can. He’s always staring at them when I check on him.
Now all they need are some instruments!
by the way it's fine to like sexual content just for the sake of it. "we can't ban porn because other stuff will get banned" "sometimes nude art has value" "the government will classify queer people as sexual" this is all true but it's okay to just like porn. its okay to not want porn to be banned because you like it.

I’m delighted at how often they describe Jack Aubrey as round and fat. He’s an energetic captain bouncing around his ship and he still gets to be fat!!!
Friend in an alleyway | my wife sent me this photo the other day and said "you HAVE to draw this." and I agreed completely <:
oops I was told you can only see the photo if you have a bsky account, so here's a screenshot of it!

Fanfiction is supposed to be cringy. You're allowed to write bad. You're allowed to be cringe. Fanfiction is supposed to be self indulgent. You're allowed to be cringe. Let yourself be cringe. Fanfiction is supposed to be fun. Stop putting arbitrary rules on yourself and be free.
Imagine Grace defined his name as the elegance definition of grace and Rocky spends years thinking how fucking ironic this clumsy leaky space blobs name is.
Until Grace slips out a sentence along the lines of "could you give me a little grace here" and Rocky immediately points out he used a word wrong so Grace has to explain that yeah, grace means elegance but it can also mean mercy sometimes too.
And Rocky has to suddenly reconcile that the clumsy leaky blob that saved his life twice, that almost certainly doomed himself to come back for him, name is Mercy.
🖖🏼New Summer Event! Spirk at Sixty! 🤝🏼
🚀🛸SPIRK AT SIXTY🏳🌈🌅
In celebration of Star Trek’s 60th anniversary this September, our summer event is all about Old Men Spirk!
❓ WHAT IS IT? 🤔
The people who brought you Live Long and Pinup, Spirk in a Cave, and Shipboard Weekends are back with a shiny new Summer Spirk Event!
This time around we want to see your vision of Spirk at Sixty! Are they happily married with 2 cats and tenure track positions at Starfleet Academy? Perhaps they’re out stealing ships for enrichment in their old age. Heck, maybe they’re both in jail for...well canon gives us plenty of reasons.
Writers, artists, poets, filkers, and all other creatives are welcome to join the event and show us your vision of Spirk at Sixty! You’re welcome to use any iteration of Spirk: TOS, TAS, TOS Movies, AOS Movies, or SNW. They all deserve some quality retirement time.
New to fandom? We're here to welcome you! All you need is a love of Spirk and a desire to create.

Trying to find something to motivate myself and I found this little line from Van Gogh
AU scenario where McCoy is on Vulcan for a residency or long physician exchange, is fed up with his dry colleagues, and feels like causing mild drama while eating some Vulcan holiday dinner (we all know the importance the good doctor places on a delicious, non-reconstituted meal).
He places an “emotional human to annoy your logical Vulcan family” ad, and Spock hires him so that Spock will look more Vulcan to his family in comparison at the holidays, where his behaviour is usually picked apart by his father and other older relatives.
Bones promises to (and does) argue about the importance of emotion, debate Sarek vehemently at every opportunity, have a few drinks, and shed an obvious tear.
Unfortunately, by the end of dinner, Amanda has told him about Spock's "fat teddy bear," T'Pau actually concedes to him in an argument, he's managed to save Sarek's life, and the whole family adores him--except Spock (for now). They keep asking Spock to bring the human doctor back for tea.
Spock is less certain. But his mother looked very pleased, and Doctor McCoy did enjoy the Vulcan cookies...
A moment! ∿ Evening sketch, September 2018
alright I've got to do some quick math to explain attitudes towards AI to my boss.
we're looking to create an AI policy, and when we were talking about this, my boss (older millennial) was genuinely shocked to hear that younger people do not (seem) to view AI positively (a la the recent commencement speakers being booed)
please rb for larger sample size!
Question 1/3
What is your age, and do you feel AI is a net positive or net negative in our lives today?
under 18, AI is a net positive
under 18, AI is a net negative
18-29, AI is a net positive
18-29, AI is a net negative
30-45, AI is a net positive
30-45, AI is a net negative
46-60, AI is a net positive
46-60, AI is a net negative
over 60, AI is a net postive
over 60, AI is a net negative
Question 2/3
How often do you visit or interact with museums/archives (whether in person or online)?
Frequently (multiple times per month)
Often (multiple times per year)
Occasionally (a couple times per year)
Rarely (once every couple of years)
Never :(
Question 3/3
If you saw a museum was using AI in exhibits, marketing, research, etc., would you be more or less inclined to visit that museum?
under 18, more inclined
under 18, less inclined
18-29, more inclined
18-29, less inclined
30-45, more inclined
30-45, less inclined
46-60, more inclined
46-60, less inclined
over 60, more inclined
over 60, less inclined
Thank you for helping with this data collection. Please rb for as big a sample as possible!

sorry their story from twok/tsfs will never cease to make me insane every time I think about it
spock, grimly succeeding in their lifelong race to martyr themselves, stopped by mccoy. McCoy knows what he's doing, Spock knows he knows. They don't even need to have the conversation, they've had it a hundred times. some form of his life flashing before his eyes but in arguments. he wins, this time (no one's winning here.)
and here at the edge of the end of his life he's filled with "a terrible, un-Vulcan-like affection" and does something so impulsive and so unlike himself. a flare, a hail mary (like in Galileo 7, his last act, totally illogically, purely human) - or just a gift, never expecting to come back, but needing him to carry him, knowing he needs to carry you, knowing he needs you (knowing he can't wish you luck, he wouldn't survive it). Or, maybe, during this selfless act, one selfish wish, like a risk taken when you know it's the end anyways.
and it's Remember, not what mccoy convinced him of once after expounding upon the things love can drive a man to.
and it's hopeless, he's off (and what does that look like? is the katra a copy or a package? does he go off to die soul intact? does mccoy feel what he feels?) and he says goodbye to the last part left outside of them - the whole, integrated man, right? to his Head and mccoys Heart.
and then McCoy does carry him and he streams tears down his face unaware and his body is Spock's body sometimes and his voice is Spock's voice sometimes and he's drawn to Spock's life and it takes so long for anyone to notice anything's wrong - how often was he drawn to him before, that it would be so unexceptional? and no one believes he's not dead to mccoy, he's literally imprisoned with him in his mind, and his body in the physical reality around them. how many songs about love and grief describe them.
and then like a fairy tale Spock's father bursts on to the scene with a ritual to bring him back and they look in all the wrong places until they realize he's right in front of them, has been in front of them - confusing them because isn't he one man, one integrated man, a head & a heart? and he never was - he'd be devastated without the other half of him, but the union is painful and confusing too when he doesn't know what's happening.
and god the scene of kirk waking mccoy and breaking him out of his tower, the scene where he holds on to mccoy who's collapsed in his arms, where he's holding spock & mccoy at once - one dead, one alive, both in pain.
and the idea of that heart - that they do see each other in his head, that they connect heart to heart there - 😵💫 god. they've been so out of step in life - as one gets closer the other pulls back, on and on, til it becomes their dance and suddenly they're in a position to hear each other
and it gets McCoy to finally say it out loud - but again, when Spock can't respond. and then a magic ritual to pull them apart again - a touch, head to head. mccoy glassy eyed and so tender with him after, spock curious and somber. mccoy tapping his head as if to say 'i carried you here'. and then another whirlwind of a mission but we know they're left with a link after telling them if the other lives, drawing them to each others minds - one Spock knows exists, one McCoy just believes in. wow. does it not drive you crazy?
