Chapter Five just confirmed that the characters are perfectly capable of walking over spike barriers that are locked by puzzles- it's only the soul that's stopped by them. I love this piece of information so much for no reason. Implication being that all this time, Ralsei and Susie have just been twiddling their thumbs, waiting for Kris to unlock the most out-maneuverable row of tiny points ever.

“Am I enough?”

I was playing with the brain tease of why Kris’s soul was specifically mentioned and used for a good half of the light-related situations in chapter 4, then I considered how Kris might be feeling at the prior phone call might.

Given Kris’s character, would they try to prove (mostly to themselves) that they could handle the dark world with their own power, and reduce reliance on the player’s soul.?

For a while, things were going great….until an eldritch being of a titan showed up.

How were they feeling, when they had to fall back on the player’s power once again?

I look forward to how the player-Kris dynamic evolves in the next chapter…

my chapter 5 theory is that the first npc we see in flower king dark world will be a golden flower that just goes "Hi, I'm FLOWERY. FLOWERY the FLOWERER!" who will be a completely harmless and normal NPC with nothing that could possibly be suspicious about them except for the player's knowledge of undertale. but we'll have ever single option and oppurtunity to fight him. if taken, susie and ralsei will freak out and be like "HOLY SHIT KRIS WHY ARE YOU KILLING HIM" that's it that's the whole bit
