I actually got the idea of the flower hair from an artist my friend sent me, unfortunately i cant remember the artist but they drew blue's hair like a flower and i thought it was super duper cute so i incorporated it into my design as well :3 The stamen in his hair was my own idea though. it was mainly to help communicate that his hair was a full on flower in the back, but i also thought it would be a cute way to incorporate more yellow into his design and it resembles his little gold earrings too yknow ?

the blue flower on yellows hat was something i added to the flower pins i designed, and then i thought it was really cute so i just adopted it into my yellow hc design permanently. I drew blue with a butterfly and decided itd be fun to make it yellow as a reference to. well. Yellow. and then it was bugging me so bad cause blue was the only one who had a little reference to any other character, felt unfair to him, but i didnt want to take out the butterfly or change the color, so i just gave yellow a blue flower on his hat and now everybody wins yayyyy🌼
