does anyone else remember reading about spontaneous human combustion in a book of weird and unexplained facts and phenomena when you were like, ten years old or something and being convinced for like a week that you were going to suddenly burst into flames out of nowhere and that this was something actually worth worrying about before never thinking about it ever again or was i just fucked in the head as a kid

Honestly, people generally don’t want much… They want to eat their favorite food. They want to go to the seaside and smell the fresh air. They want to nap on the grass and listen to music. They want to hold their loved ones in their arms, and be held in return. They want warm clothes, be occupied with a profession/a hobby that does not smother them. They want to feel safe and unafraid. Mostly, they want to live without being ridiculed, manipulated or being forced. And this is why capitalism/modern life overall is so upsetting, depressing and even destructive. Because thinking about how small and simple things you yearn for & how hard it is to even be able to have them really wears you off

i have really bad news for you guys about the kind of infrastructure it takes to support this vision

we do not need to spend our entire childhood and early adulthood doing hours and hours of work in overdrive with no reward or even a break, exhausting ourselves mentally and physically for a letter grade. homework isn’t even necessary. it helps no one learn and has actually been proven to be a detriment to school work and health. people flourish with time for creativity rest and imagination. our capitalistic school system is destroying that for the sake of creating some worn-out and beaten down little machines. not to mention the ableism and classism in expecting every student fo have the same amount of time and ability to do assignments to the standards of the school.

I think it's actually cool and great not to have any especially specific descriptors for your gender and/or orientation. just do whatever you want. yeehaw.

the way people talk about gender and orientation often has an implied understanding that through enough introspection/reading/fucking around and finding out you'll eventually arrive at the True Answer but actually that's uh. listen it's not gonna be the experience everyone has and that's fine, especially since the language we currently have to explain gender and attraction are pretty recent and relatively limited (as all language is!) and it's like. it's fine not to jive with that. you don't have to find a box you fit in perfectly and you also don't have to build a new box for yourself, you can just exist in whatever way feels right to you.
