I'm noticing that there is a certain type of work mentality that is good because it means people want things to happen and will share in the load if necessary, but it also has, to a certain point, the mentality of children who don't want to be reprimanded and so they don't do things to avoid being reprimanded.

And I get it. Maybe you will lose your job. But I am noticing this in fucking funcionarios. Do you know how hard is to fire a funcionario. Also, there are not enough of them because the Administration is not hiring. Why are you afraid of doing your job right. What do you think might happen. Of all the people who could stop working and it would be a fucking problem, funcionarios really do have the power to disrupt.

My mom was scandalised when she was still working because doctors and nurses would just not go on strike. A strike was called for and she would be the only one following it half of the time. Sure,... you will miss one day of salary. But you are a fucking doctor in the national health system. It's not like your family won't eat for striking a couple of days.

So yeah. I see very clearly that I will end up being a delegada sindical probably within months of becoming a funcionaria myself (this could happen in the next 2 to 10 years).

#yeah we have the same problem in france #Public jobs and infrastructures are being destroyed by toxic management and cut in funds #and it's still so difficult to mobilize the fonctionnaires to strike...#Because all the people who end up in these jobs typically have the 'good student syndrome' or at least the need to appeal to an authority #figure #anyway that's why i joined my union lol ! I moved out just two days ago so obviously I've been busy organizing all my stuff. And it's allowing to see some stuff I'd kept in a forgotten box, that dates back from when I was a kid and I just found a very interesting drawing. It's from when I was around 6/7 years old, which i can tell because I wrote in all caps on the drawing, and I only learned to write in cursive at 7, and also there are some mistakes typical of that age in the writing. Anyway I think I'm gonna show this drawing to my therapist because it shows :

me reading,

my childhood cat meowing,

my brother playing video games (he's a video game addict, like to pathological level it's not just an expression) and saying 'Sarah make that cat shut up' (I am 7 years younger than him so it says something that I represented him ordering me around and complaining)

my mother in the corner trying to catch the meowing cat and telling her to 'Come here'

and a note from my tiny 6/7 year old hands saying 'You might wonder where the father is. Well he's on the other side of this page because he's divorced'

and indeed there's a drawing of my father on the other side of the page

says it all tbh, I should have shown this to my therapist on day fucking one
