About_Faces!

1.) It’s a Telltale game, which means that choices and consequences are mostly meaningless. It’s not like Witcher 3, where your choices can lead to hugely divergent story arcs. It’s a fixed story. The most you can meaningfully do is tailor how your character reacts to it. One reason I enjoyed The Wolf Among Us despite hating Fables is that I far preferred the Bigby I played to the asshole in the comics.

2.) With that said, I hate that there’s a “save Harvey” option that doesn’t actually lead to saving him, and that the story has its own way of forcing his mental breakdown to happen regardless of scarring. A meaningful choice-based game should allow me to save him, before/after he becomes Two-Face.

3.) But even still, I can’t NOT choose to save him. Which means I’ll be robbing myself of one of the best Two-Face scarring designs I’ve ever seen! I’m just supposed to let him suffer? Just because I love the design?

4.) I’m sure Travis Willingham is a perfectly cromulent Harvey, but Troy Baker is right there playing Bruce and I’m just not gonna be able to forget how incredible he was as Harvey in Arkham Knight and ESPECIALLY Arkham Shadow.

5.) I’m still salty about all the fans who were way more invested in the tragic relationship between Bruce and the Joker in Part 2 than they were about Bruce and Harvey. This indicates to me that the Bruce/Harvey stuff wasn’t handled with as much care as they gave to the Joker. Can somebody tell me what kind of world we live in where a man dressed up like a clown gets all of Harvey’s press? This fandom needs an enema! (Toots on a party blower two times)

I’m stunned. I feel like I should be hurt, destroyed even. Instead, I feel… weirdly validated? Like I’ve finally made it? You hate… me?
