Obviously, I agree with this point. But on the other hand… if he learned “onomatopoeia”from a Batman comic, that means he read Kevin Smith’s Batman: The Widening Gyre, which isn’t good for reading at any age.

#also it somehow never occurred to me that people would know Onomatopoeia from Batman #because he first appeared in Smith’s Green Arrow run #which is a much better read than his Batman despite its own problems

#I am enjoying Jed McKay’s Marvel work in general #and particularly his handling of Scott and other members of his X-team #between that and Moon Knight it’s clear that McKay #is quite good at fucked up men nonetheless being effective leaders in team dynamics

A commission (not mine) by Trevor Von Eeden that he put up on his FB page a long time ago.

A brilliantly conceived deathtrap for the Boy Wonder courtesy of the Joker.

The water pouring down into the aquarium, lifting the water level until it cascades down the tube which Robin is secured (the smile painted over his gag is a suitably macabre touch) and when that happens a lot of hungry piranha will find a handy snack. And the Joker is taking a selfie (or livestreaming it)

But Batman is swooping down, so...

I couldn't have thought of a better scenario myself! :)

#wow that’s the best art by von eeden I’ve seen in ages!#he was one of the best unsung talents of the 80’s #but then I think he joined up with Neal Adams’ company/collective #and it just ruined everything that made him weird and special #this isn’t like the von eeden of old that I love #but it’s much cleaner and more elegant than what his 90’s/00’s stuff was like #and I didn’t even notice the batman at first! that’s great!#robin #joker #dick grayson #trevor von eeden
