This is a telephone/gossip table/bench/chair. Like computer armoires of the 1990s and early 2000s and the typewriter desks/stands that preceeded them, they were a piece of furniture designed around an every-day technology that has now become obsolete, largely due to miniaturization.

In love w this panel from Justice League Unlimited where, in the midst of dozens of superheroes and villains throughout time getting displaced into the present, we see Azbats phase in only to phase out after literally a single second. Bc not only would he have no way to explain or understand randomly being teleported in and out of the future for justttt enough time to go ‘wh’ under normal circumstances, he is also at this particular moment in time already hallucinating like completely constantly. So this otherwise weird and startling thing is just Completely subsumed by and indistinguishable from fucking everything else going on during Knightfall. I think he teleported back and just went on with his day without another thought. This is nothing to him. Unremarkable moment. Like for a lot of these other heroes maybe they would have some recollection of this moment from their present self POV but I think if u mentioned it to him offhandedly in the present day he would not know what you are talking about.
