Thought- why Calyx (Golden Heir Dalek) imprinted to Saan

Caste- being of Golden Emperor Dalek lineage, he has more leeway on emotional/cognitive development

Age- Calyx was decanted early and incubated, as well as held by Saan in his most vulnerable state. His first heard heartbeat was hers.

Fever- the extreme fever of his illness possibly altered his brain chemistry

Alterations- Calyx lacks the surgical and cognitive alterations Daleks get. He adapted readily as a mutant.

Saan herself- Not just by saving Calyx's life and imprinting heartbeat. Calyx, as a Dalek, could likely detect that Saan is a Kaled, as well as a genetically modified Kaled

At the very least- Daleks are genetically modified Kaleds in most timelines. This is also how Arkreli smooths over doubts on Dalek/Salutary alliances

Skaro Silver/Dalek Silver stamp concepts

Skaro Silver is an alloy made up of 90% Fine Silver and 10% Dalekanium. It is an expensive material, and used primarily in antimicrobial coatings in specific castes of Dalek, namely ones that have a higher risk of being exposed to unknown infectious materials.

Sumptuary Laws in the Integrated Empire limit most Kaleds in the Kaled Dome to certain types of jewelry (mostly rings or pendants/medals). Exceptions are inherited pieces or silver held in trusts (example- Arkreli left Skaro Silver from replaced plating to Priya, and she was training as a silversmith), as well as silver smiths that are allotted Skaro Silver by the Dalek Domes. Skaro Silver can be seized in times of scarcity.

Stamps are in a database and regulated by the Empire. Stamps must be registered by the smithing company.

Examples are sketched above- the 90/10 refers to the 90% silver, 10% Dalekanium.

Blie hadn't meant to climb so far away from their casing. They had needed to do some repairs - some of the internal wiring had been stripped and warn with age and the nanotechnology lacked sufficient supplemental minerals to repair the wires without stripping other parts of the casing. Thus- they had assumed they had found a secluded, quiet place to exit their casing and locate the supplies.

Instead- Blue was now waving his longer tendrils in front of themself judging the distance between two shelving units. Could they make that jump? They startled at the voice below them and spring across tue open section between the two shelves rather clumsily. With a clatter of glass and metal meeting wet tendril Blue scrambled up the side of the shelf- trying their hardest not to slip.

"Blue?" Saan called up. "Need help?"

There eye darted around trying to locate the source of the voice. The blurry form of some humanoid came into view and they tensed. What was that thing? Who was that thing? They couldnt answer as they felt themself slipping down the side of the shelf.

"Ack- yes-" they hissed- their mind reaching out to the other as they continued to scramble.

"Blue, it's me, Saan." Saan pinged him on the Pathweb, hoping he could recognize her.

In her hands was a towel, to allow Blue to grab or be wrapped in.

"I'm going to reach up, pleaes do not bite me..."

Saan? Again- right - one of the saved alternates. Blue was starting to question himself on constantly trying to save all of the different alternate timelines out there. After all what good would it do once they were out of their own timeline and in Blue's own? They slipped and fell with a thud into the towel- their longer tendrils wrapping instinctively around Saan's arms and shoulders go brace themself.

"Ah- thank you- bite you? Why would i bite you?" Blue asked, the low cackle coming from them however made it clear that they were indeed considering the action.

Saan's catch was true, and she helped Blue back to his casing. She had also brought a tool box and supplies for the repairs.

"...Because you are Blueton, and you bite."

Saan still had a note of timidness in her voice.

Blue wormed around in the towel. When they realized they were going back to the casing they began to squirm harder out of the towel. They landed next to the casing with an oof and a splat, turning around on the floor trying to point themself back in the direction of the mechanics room.

"No wait- i needed silver wire-" Blueton insisted. Saan had every right to be timid around Blue. They could be rather nasty at times.

"Oh... This?" Saan held up a reel of wire. She then added, "If it's easier I can carry you over there to get what you need."

"You just... carry that around?" Blueton asked, taking the reel of wire and running the tip of a tendril over it. It certainly tasted like silver. It felt like the right diameter as well.

"Weird." Blueton hurrumphed, turning around with the wire to bring it to their casing.

Nope! They make eggs separately, from calcium they've already eaten in their diet.

The love dart exists to carry hormones in a mucus coating, and is expelled shortly after mating occurs. The particular hormones on the dart help prevent the sperm that was exchanged from being digested by the receiving party and also sometimes can reduce the libido of the receiving party, meaning they will a) be able to use the sperm received because it is intact and b) won't seek out other mates, making it more likely the sperm received will be used.

Yep! I've currently just got the Helix lucorum breeding pair that I raised from hatchlings from my previous pair, and a single adult Otala lactea that I'm looking for a partner or two for. The place I got the lactea from was not... the best. The other one I got at the same time died within a couple days of coming home, never came out of its shell (I made sure it was ALIVE before I paid for it, but... must not have been alive by much). Alas. The hunt continues.

Pool Party!

Well, it wasn't a pool, but a lovely small lake fed by a coldwater spring. During these hot, hot days, a holiday was declared and the non-essential chores put away and all going, bringing food, drink, parasols, and blankets and chairs.

A grand table was loaded with the drinks and food, and Cronus would surely find everyone there waiting for him.

Priya hadon a pale green bikini, and was chasing Diogenes. "No! No! No! You can't have ALL of them!"

Cronus was stretched out on a rock, wearing only a loincloth. He laughed as Priya ran past, chasing the dodo.

Diogenes had a basket of berries in her beak and was doing her best to waddle away with it.

Larell was in theshade with Sunny, her bantam. The chicken woke up and joined the chase, snapping at the berries and Diogenes.

Cronus waved a finger, and magically, the basket of berries floated upward, away from Diogenes and into Priya's hands.

"Are you ladies enjoying yourselves?" Cronus asked, he'd actually put up a barrier to keep out any men who might see fit to peek at the temple maidens.

"Thank you, thank you Cronus," Priya put the basket where it belonged, as Sunny pecked at a berry that had fallen out.

Larell stayed back a little, covered up. She mostly covered up her back. Priya sat by her, the two quietly talking as Sunny squared off against Diogenes over a blueberry.

Temple Maidens were in all manner of dress and undress for swimming and enjoying some relief from the heat. Priya loaned Larell her shawl to cover her back better.

Cronus climbed off the rock, stretching luxuriously.

Suddenly, the bushes rustled loudly.

Diogenes froze, lifting her head in the direction of the sound. She'd gone perfectly still.

Priya was on alert, and Larell froze before picking up her pet.

"What is that?" Larell asked.

A young Lamia emerged from the woods, her long hair falling to cover her bare breasts.

Clutched in her arms was a woven basket of laundry, she met the maiden's gaze with her bright, fiercely yellow eyes before she started toward the spring.

"Where do you think you're going?" Cronus growled, stepping between her and the spring. "If you think I'm letting you anywhere near my temple maidens, your sorely mistaken."

Some f the maidens had ducked behind stones and trees in feeble attempts to hide from the lamia.

Larell looked on, and then looked to Priya. Priya nodded, and Larell offered theshawl in case the Lamia wished to have some cover.

The maids from Skaro, Priya and Larell, both had no fear of the Lamia.

The lamia stared in surprise at the offering. She lifted a hand to her chest, blinking down at the shawl.

"I just want to wash my clothes." She said, "I'll take no harm and cause no harm." She glared at Cronus. "This spring is in our territory of the forest."

"You're territory!?" Cronus snarled, "It's MY forest!"

Larell listened, and her voice was soft, "Would you like help?"

"Larell!" Cronus snapped, "Now is not the time! This creature is a man eater."

"So are you!" The Lamia shouted back. "At least I don't pretend to be human, the way you do!"

Cronus glanced toward Priya, to see if he'd find any support there.

Priya was using herself as a barrier, keeping an eye on Larell.

"We aren't so different, then. Like Priya and me, you and Cronus are not so different, then."

"Larell?" Priya asked. "What do you mean?"

"We are both Kaled, but you area 'real' Kaled by their eyes. I am not. I was to be kept hidden." to the Lamia, "We are both creatures conditioned to live in shame?"

"HE says we should feel shame for what we are." The lamia shouted, "But I refuse! I am proud of what I am! I am proud of my mothers and grandmothers!"

Cronus glared at Larell,

"You don't understand what you're talking about. You have no idea how dangerous these creatures can be! Step away from her!"

Larell was quiet, but her obedience drive was still too strong, making her step away from the Lamia. Priya watched, concerned as Sunny grew protective.

"...Damn this programming..." Larell whispered. She went and sat by Cronus, staring blankly ahead.

That seemed to snap Cronus out of whatever fury he was working himself into.

"Be quick about your work." Cronus growled, stepping aside and letting the Lamia approach the spring and begin washing her clothes.

Priya sat by Larell, concerned, "Hey... You okay?"

"...I will be." Larell's voice was flat, though she perked up as Sunny hopped into her lap.

Cronus glared at the Lamia, and his eyes flicked toward the table, almost groaning under the weight of food.

"Of course, I insist you eat with us." he said, tight-lipped with disapproval. It was clear he was offering in the spirit of Xenia.

Priya went to help the Lamia, keeping an eye on Larell.

In a way, it was Priya's method of obtaining information too.

"I have not met your kind before. Are they all Lamia, or is that your name?" Priya asked.

The lamia smiled thinly, "Very strange to meet a Kahled not stuck up its own ass." She said, "You're not like the others."

She seemed completely taken aback by Priya kneeling down and actually begin washing the clothes with her! Her tongue flicked in and out of her mouth, tasting the air in surprise.

"I'm---My name is Lybee."

Cronus continued to glare at Priya for a few moments before rolling his eyes, and signalling for his maidens to join him at the picnic.
