@onebluedalek asked for a starter with an old...friend.
Ah, Malekith thought, as he ducked out from inside his ship. Earth hasn't changed much over the last few years. True, there'd be a bit of a purging problem that needed tending to (so he'd heard tell) but the skies were still grey and the air still a mix of moisture and smog and just a touch of a chill in the air. The architecture too, looked more or less the same as any other human city, although it had been a very, very long time since he'd set foot in New York.
The Old Time Lord twisted around, just enough to lock his vessel with a hands-free key he'd fashioned for himself: sleek and square and the color of obsidian. Hm. He'd have to make a note to visit the islands before he left the planet.
He paused then, debating with himself if leaving a very noticeably alien ship out in the open like this. He'd heard of far stranger things happening since he'd last visited but at the same time...humans never learn. Ah well. Maybe they'd think it some sort of commemorative monument. It looked more or less like something from...what was his name...Welles, I think? Yes. One his novels. Only where most classic Midgardian literature fancied the stereotypical flying saucer, his looked more like, well...like a block. A big, black block with a smaller block on top from which he typically navigated the ship. Just big enough for an Old Time Lord and his adventures, whatever they may be.
Perhaps leaving it here would be just...fine? Malekith paused, ears picking up the sounds of voices from not too far away. He frowned, turning towards them and--yes, there were voices now, along with a couple of humans who looked anything but pleased with the situation.
Welcome home, you old fool.
