I love Eve as a character, but it’s so frustrating how her powers are so God-tier that the writers have to keep her at about 1/1000000 of her power level when she’s fighting alongside any other hero just so they don’t look useless beside her.
Power level inconsistency is a big problem in Invincible’s writing, but it doesn’t get more obvious than with Eve. She can move and create matter and distort reality. She should be able to end every conflict on her own with no help. I know that would destroy all tension in the show, but that’s my point. They made her too strong without giving her any limitations. Just a few simple limitations to using her powers would have fixed this.
But, as it stands, every time she’s fighting with anyone else, all I can think is, “Why doesn’t she just use her powers to rip apart every enemy and end this already?”
The Scientist who made her put a mental block to prevent her from being able to alter “living” matter, which prevents her from just Thanos snapping people out of existence. However, Eve overcomes this mental block during extremely emotional moments, or during near death events.
Also like The Flash, her powers actually do have an affect on her body, consuming stored calories and converting it into the energy she uses. (In the comics she actually loses her unborn child because her body converts the baby into energy, which was a really fucked up thing)
