Imagine: not falling in love immediately but also rapidly getting attached to Avery through infinite knowledge and once they're safe and together (copium) Derek gets more physically comfortable around Avery, and its sooo much more than just knowing he'd be theoretically safe around a person he knew but never met. Nono. Derek experiences firsthand the person he had an instant attachment to. And I mean small stuff like having someone to lean on and someone who gives fantastic hugs and likes to fall asleep on him during movies and is so so mega okay with initiating physical contact its not even a conscious thought. Getting to witness Avery, as himself, and how in accordance Avery responds to Derek as a person. And gradually falling in love BECAUSE of this knowledge fitting perfectly into place just the way Derek is comfortable with. Not too extensively vulnerable. Not too alarming. Derek can be a fake idgaf nonchalanter and text once a week and still have all the human connection he needs because this would be the one relationship that he knows he's appreciated in as just himself and not because of what he'll achieve in life. He fell in love once and it was because of Avery. He fell in love because it was with someone tied to his very being in every universe in every timeline. He fell in love because despite minor communication errors this was the sole person that was an honest to god exactly what he wanted in someone else. And . Maybe.. representended everything he wanted to die saving even before he saw the gates . .

Imagine a second time: Derek is too logicpilled to think of sex and romance as anything OTHER than silly brain chemicals, he needs more convincing. He cant just believe in something without knowing its components. Nerruerr if he's gunna kiss someone he's gotta do it for a really good reason. like taxes or something. You cant tell me he wouldnt have a death note level monologue on WHY he's choosing to fall in love with Avery. He needs a spreadsheet of events before committing to the cause.

What IS this event, anyhow?

Slimeknight Week is a ship week dedicated entirely to Slimeknight! A ship week is a week of prompts for a given ship, and I decided to make one for Slimeknight! Fic, art, and all other ways to make fanworks are accepted for this event!

General Guidelines

Any kind of fan work, whether it be art, fic, playlists, comics, etc. are all allowed in this event!

We do NOT support generative AI. We like our Minecraft yaoi MADE! BY! MAN!

We accept both SFW and NSFW works! However, you have to be 18+ to create NSFW works!

There are no "late" submissions! While the ship week starts at a specific given date (that you can vote on in the interest check!) we accept works after the ship weeks end!

If Derek was in the shoes of Homura Akemi (repeating over and over again to save a singular person) it is possible he would start acting like Homura, a lot more closed off and monotone, emotionless seeming. It is a lot different if Avery was in the shoes of Homura though, he would do it out of stubbornness, but also out of love for Derek, he wouldn't want to see him dead. Avery would not start acting like Homura, but he'd probably act slightly different.

But here's another part, if Derek was in the shoes of Madoka Kaname, he would not act like Madoka, he would still be clearly Derek, but he'd sure as hell be confused on why Avery would start acting different then how Derek knows him as (and im guessing he wouldnt actually know about avery trying to save him over and over, even though he has infinite knowledge, he stated he was unsure about the stuff inside the minecraft world before.). But if Avery was in the shoes of Madoka, it's likely he'd start acting like Madoka, sure maybe not exactly like in the show with Madoka acting all yk fearful, Avery still would clearly be Avery, but he'd probably start feeling 'helpless', even though he doesn't know what Derek is doing, he could certainly notice that Derek is acting a lot different then from when he first saw his personality. (Since Avery found out about the world and Derek from the Searching For A World That Doesn't Exist in the story by Wifies, canonly, I believe.) But it's possible he may brush it off as just 'whatever Derek saw' but he would probably notice something is wrong or off.

so in my conclusion, if you want a TRUE Madoka-Homura relationship, pick Avery as Madoka and Derek as Homura.

If you wish for a more 'unique' Madoka-Homura dynamic, choose Avery as Homura and Derek as Madoka.

first of all i dont think either of them really Know theyre aro they just kind of have their own special little kind of relationship . they dont want to call it anything

derek is aromantic +demisexual to me and avery is likeee. would have so many crushes but never wanna act on them. he liked the fantasizing part but the romance part was bleh.
