something interesting i spotted in the artbook, in this concept art of papyrus’s room. if you can’t read it, the bullet points are:

papyrus is known to be sort of a neat freak (clothes hung up neatly in his closet, complaining about sans’s room, the whole sock exchange, etc.) so it seems really weird that he’d have a stack of bowls/dishes piled up in his room?? it could be that these are from some sort of culinary experiment or something, but why would papyrus—who engages in a sticky note war over a single sock—fail to clean these up..? the notes themselves even calls the stacks “weird.”

it’s pretty well known at this point that papyrus has a lot going on beneath the surface, and although a lot of it probably isn’t great, he still manages to be a bright spot in everyone’s life. i think a lot of people forget that one of the first things we hear about papyrus is sans saying “my brother’s been kind of down lately…”

basically, maybe’s there’s a reason he’d be unable to do such a simple task, and there has to be some sorta metaphor in the idea of letting things pile up until they become unmanageable.
