CHAPTER 10 IS NOW UP!!!
Separated from Vash by only a thin divide, Wolfwood lay naked and brooding and blowing smoke. He dared to conjure an image in his mind of the Stampede, with his broad shoulders hunched over a small bedside table. He envisioned his large gun partially dismantled, as its owner made the best of his current resources to purify the weapon of atonement. He pictured his clean blond hair, wet and draped prettily over his forehead and eyes. He imagined the sounds of nylon and brass brushes scraping over steel and aluminum parts, as he performed meticulous and delicate work with mismatched, entrancing hands.
The lights blinked again, dissolving the illusion, and Wolfwood groaned dully as God's judgment bore down on the tiny, empty enclosure he lay awake in.
Not that the room was devoid of furnishings. It had all the accouterments of a stay for this price. But it felt vacant, soulless, even as he resided in its comfortable bedโฆ
