Andrew Yang Enthusiasm

Like, I get the Andrew Yang memes. They’re funny, and he’s funny. But don’t let them distract you from the fact that he’s an excellent candidate with a serious platform. So if you’ve just heard of him from memes, actually look him up and see what he’s saying, and I think you might like it more than you expect.

I used to grumble about how politicians shouldn’t have to be funny. Then this self deprecating asian dude yeets into the race and starts shouting to anyone who will listen about the single most important economic, cultural and societal reform that will be absolutely necessary for the 21st century and also he thinks along the way society should probably appreciate autistics way more than it currently does.  Most people I talk to, they say “I just wish it were possible for him to win” and if all those people could notice each other there would be nothing that could stop us. Ranked choice voting would do the trick too, another position Yang endorses along with breaking up Facebook and punishing pharmaceutical companies that profiteer off of creating epidemics like the opiate crisis.

This is plainly ignorant of how societies function. We are a system of animals, and animals will act to survive. If social systems are constructed so that cooperation (pro-social behavior, working a job, buying goods from a store, using the bathroom) is a more direct route to basic needs (food, shelter and peace of mind) than conflict (widely understood as crime, or otherwise legal but predatory behavior), people will engage in them. So long as these systems remain in place, the extent to which people cannot or choose not to participate in them creates massive cost inefficiencies. Crime that is the result of poverty always inflicts greater costs on society than the underlying poverty. How then, can poverty be understood as anything but a failure of the society? One that can and should be corrected by a straightforward, definitive government action. 

Andrew Yang is the best 2020 candidate and that’s the tea

Sometimes it almost seems too good to be true, but I’m seeing it happen before muh very eyes. 

I got to meet Andrew and I was really amazed at how approachable and present he was. He definitely had some prepared lines ready but, I dunno, my read of it was after a few moments he got a good enough read off my friend and I and shifted to just connecting with us as volunteers and supporters. I told him his commitment to autism destigmatization was inspiring and we got to speak briefly on that. Can’t say enough for how authentic of a candidate Andrew is.

America only represents 15% of the worlds contribution to global warming, so we need to go farther than simply cutting back and look at solutions that can reverse the damage that’s already been done.

S-O-L-U-T-I-O-N-S Not only is he talking about using geo-engineering to combat climate change, but his first principle is that we should be looking into things that are reversible if we don’t like the impact they have. AMERICA INTO THE FUUUTUUUUURRE
