In dependence

With basic income, people can chose the kind of relationships they want and the kind of works they want. Thus, individuals gain greater autonomy in choosing their relationships and career paths, fostering more fulfilling lives.

You can count on your partner, your family, your friends or your boss because they are trustworthy not because you have to. You are more free if you have the option to change.

With basic income, people depend on society as a whole and not on individuals. A basic income shifts the focus from individual reliance to collective well-being. Each one contributes according to their means.

In France, if the wealth of the richest 1% were capped at 100 million euros, there would be more than enough money to finance this universal basic income.

This would require a very powerful and very democratic state to redistribute wealth unconditionally.

It is an illusion to think one can be independent.

Freedom means you chose who you are dependent on.

This project will change your life. For Stop Being Poor Studio Julian Hetzel takes the equivalent of a basic income (from cultural funding) and gives it to one person for one year. In other words: someone will receive €15.000. This money is an invitation to escape the world of needs and to enter the world of desires.

Usually, it is the CEOs and technocrats running the governments who decide which futures are possible. In this project, established power structures are turned upside down. The decision is entrusted to an alternative expert committee consisting of a group of homeless people living on the streets of Stuttgart.
