People usually meet the finished chapter.

They don’t see the nights you changed your mind instead of giving up. The conversations you rehearsed before finally speaking up. The boundaries you held even when they made you question yourself. The times you chose peace over proving a point. The mornings you got up and kept going when nobody would have blamed you for stopping.

Growth isn’t built in the moments everyone applauds. It’s built in the ordinary decisions nobody else even knows you had to make.

If the person you are today feels different from who you used to be, give yourself credit for all the quiet choices that brought you here. Those are the moments that built your life.

She teaches that the parts of you called “too much,” “too emotional,” “too intense,” or “too independent” are not flaws, they are the untamed power that was always meant to lead your life.

Lilith energy asks one simple question:Where in your life are you still asking permission to exist fully?

Fertility hormones had me on edge, bloated, and questioning every life choice. I was not my best self. I was, however, still in glam. Lawd, help me. LOL

Even my dear @nicogovan caught a stray… he was genuinely trying to feed my irritation away and got more spice than he bargained for. I’m sorry 😞. Thank you to @keelywatson, who comforted me with love; @kylerichards18 , who checked on me; @kathyhilton , who gave me constant hugs, and @rachelzoe, who said “you look beautiful, let’s take a selfie!” Y’all reminded me that this too shall pass (preferably quickly).

One conversation tested my spirit (no names, no notes). I’ll leave it there. Growth looks like restraint… and a well-timed deep breath.

We sang, we cake’d, we celebrated @theprettymess’s birthday properly 🎂🎶 Because joy still finds you … even mid-hormone spiral.

Lesson of the trip: On off days, life still happens… and so do the moments worth keeping.

In ancient Greece, starting around the 4th century BC, a unique class of women known as hetairai, or 'companions', existed alongside wives and common prostitutes.

Unlike most women of the era, these companions were often highly educated in arts, philosophy, and social graces. This allowed them to offer intellectual stimulation in addition to companionship.

They were fixtures at symposia, which were all-male drinking parties. There, they could debate literature and politics with the most powerful men in society, a privilege unheard of for married women. 🏛️

Many hetairai were not just companions but also shrewd businesswomen who controlled their own finances, accumulating significant wealth over time. 💰

One of the most famous was Phryne, who lived in the 4th century BC. Accused of impiety, a serious crime, she was defended by the orator Hypereides. In a dramatic courtroom move, he revealed her beauty to the judges, who were so moved they acquitted her.

Another well-known hetaira was Lais of Corinth. She was so sought after that her clients included famous philosophers and politicians, who paid handsomely for her time and conversation.

While these women achieved a level of freedom and influence, their position was an exception. The vast majority of Greek women were confined to the home, with their lives dedicated to family and domestic duties.
