Getting Past my damage from NaNoWriMo
Years ago, I fell into the trap of NaNoWriMo, âParticipants are tasked with writing a 50,000-word novel draft by the end of the month of NovemberâŚWriters are instructed to prioritize speed and quantity over quality,âŚâ Obsessing one month a year made writing become a chore no longer a joy for me.
For the last two years I have been lazily attempting to write with no direction and no solid routine.
Today I overheard someone say I was off somewhere writing. Sadly, I wasnât writing.
I feel that I owe it to those who believe in me and mostly myself to start again!
Writing was a key part of my identity. I want to try get back into story telling. Not word-count goals.
