When they’re on the bench, they’re not just next to each other; they’re shoulder to shoulder, hip to hip, leg to leg. One of them scoots down an inch, the other immediately follows. If Will leans forward, Macklin mirrors his action instinctively. If Macklin leans backwards to catch his breath after a shift, Will makes sure their bodies stay connected. They can’t help themselves.

When they’re orbiting each other on the ice, they’re almost too close. Pressed against each other’s backs, jerseys brushing, skates damn near touching. Skating away from each other and reconnecting milliseconds later just to have those fleeting little touches. Playful little checks against the boards during practice just to feel each other. Like they’re in their own little world.

Even off the ice, even when they’re not being broadcasted on live television, they just have to be touching. When they pass something to each other, their hands brush for just a second too long. When they’re next to each other, they’re pressed as closely as they can be (re: willmack interview with Cat and Toff). When they’re speaking to each other, it’s like the rest of the world disappears. Whispering and giggling in each other’s faces (re: the balcony video™).
