I hate those articles where people absolutely trash bottom surgery. Like 1) the majority of it is untrue or exaggerated 2) what if my parents read that? And now that’s what they’ll think I’m getting or decide they won’t support it? Like if phalloplasty was as bad as everyone claims, NOBODY WOULD BE GETTING IT. It’s even worse too when other trans people trash it like you should know of all people how this can be lifesaving.

I know everybody’s sickened by how every corporation is suddenly pro-LGBT and yeah it would have been nice to see such support waaay before now, but I think it’s kind of hilarious. It’s gross that they’re obviously just trying to cash in on the hype, but 10-20 years ago, they would have gone out of their way to not be associated with us. So I think it’s fine to enjoy the recognition, as long as we don’t confuse it for actual support. Like, yes, my gay money is worth just as much as anyone else’s. Pander to me.
