The Bruce storyline is pissing me off.
A Part that Brothers me about her Story Which is already a Piece of tragedy is her Story with bruce. The handling itself and the effects on her are ok, it is truggering and saddening to Watch. BUT TGE DIRECTORS REASONING IS PISSING ME TF OFF.
The directors reasoning was that it was a Experience that „toughened her up“ and „made her stronger“ and this reasoning?
FROM A MAN?! Nope. Disgusting.
So…I have a remodeling.
My only concern is That it’s disrespectful to Survivors but it simply WASNG IN THE BOOK.
It was a Part that was added to weirdly parallel lestat and therefore feeding HIS STORY.
So I want the bonfire Scene to Go different.
Claudia clocks Bruces weird vibes early and because she is INTELLIGENT
( and has Lucky circulszanwcs Which I want to Empathize)
she tries to Play along, going all doe-eyed and the way she did with charlie even if she curses him in her thoughts.
She plays the Long Game but EVNETUALLY managed to suprise attack him when he Leans in to Kiss her, incapacitate him and burn him in the bonfire and ESCAPE back to Campus. Zooms off on his motorbike.
The Experience that made her stronger is the betrayal of another Vampire and a almost friend , Not the violation, she’s still realisibg that traveling alone is dangerous for her but continues her search for other vampires. And EVNETUALLY she finds Severaines golden caves. from the books
She hates his ass. Fueles a sense of misandry and more mistrust towards men and especially male vampires.
She also Takes Greater care in daytime sleep security and feeding regularly, EVNETUALLY stealing from hospitals.
Clauida isnt violated by Bruce. Thats the point. She’s smart enought to notice and has the Luck that her awareness and her circulstances made her able to kill him before he could go to far.
She’s actually disgusted by him.
Seeing how he got more into it when she acted younher. She cuts his Body into pieces so he cant come back and schattend his ashes like she learned in the book she got at the library. Tries to Drive a motorcycle. „ Aw- shit“ has to try several Times to get it Running, waves at the Fire „ bye bye mf“ and drives away carefully.
Like if the Director has been a woman and based Claudia on a real case or personal fears or something from the original book I would be Like ok „ it has personal ties that I can understand, someone is dealing with their emotions considering Thai topic“
ok Forget if the Director is a woman or not, it’s the EXPLANATION FOR THE PLOT THREAD THAT PISSES ME OFF. Anything more sensitive and I would have been more open to a discussion of violation and its aftetmath.
BUT THIS PLOT WAS PULLED OUT SOMEWHERE JY A MIDDLE AGED WHITE MAN.
To fuel L*stats Story. Thats why this Story Beat sticks negativly to me.
Also for the love of Christ I get that Claudias character is partly defined by her tragedy BUT LET HER ATLEAST BE WITH HER LOVE IN THAT DAMM AFTERLIFE
