I am NOT letting you leave this in the tags prev it is so true. Non binary people cant pass because there is no way to pass for us. Passing as ANY GENDER is getting misgendered because it means others assuming we're binary people, and we're not.

One of the first feelings of dysphoria I got was the feeling of "everyone else will perceive me as a binary gender first and there is nothing I can do about it" and I wanted to stop existing at all, to stop having a body and stop being perceived so no one would dictate my identity for me.

Non binary people arent taken seriously on our own oppression, in talking about trans issues we're an afterthought, because if they cant categorize us then they refuse to talk about us. Binary people, cis and trans, get annoyed when we add onto a conversation with our non binary perspective, when we ask to be included in their talks about trans liberation and fighting against gender essentialism. We complain too much and we're too weird and too cringe, we cant use terms like transfem and transmasc without everyone assuming we're basically binary trans people, and binary trans people are so busy pitting transfem and transmasc as opposites while also saying "oh but we include non binary people!" No you dont, your inclusion is only for monogender enben whose gender is static and aligned with the binary. Because talking about only the existance of transfem and transmasc as two opposite exclusive sides is exorsexist as hell.

And dont get me started on how we dont fucking have LANGUAGE, there are so many languages that have no pronouns or neutral words to refer to people, existing in your native country means being misgendered.

And that understanding for me, stems from the reality that a major way many nonbinary people do not pass is pronouns. The minute you declare yourself nonbinary or adopt any pronoun other than he OR she, you have made yourself socially visible as trans. A 2024 study found that having they/them pronouns on a resume meant it was rejected more than not only the same resume without pronouns, but the same resume with binary pronouns. The author estimated that "74% of the discrimination faced by applicants who disclose “they/them” pronouns is rooted in their nonbinary gender identity rather than the political and other signals associated with the act of pronoun disclosure."

In a world with universal base income where nobody is forced to be a porn star and people just post pics/films of themselves online for fun, sure porn would be fine, but in the real world most people in it are victimised young people who chose to be publicly sexually violated over starving/homelessness/ect.

I was approached on my college campus by someone somehow involved in the porn industry (a producer or something). He handed me a business car and told me I could make a fortune before I grew out of looking like a minor. I was 18, but I lied and told him I was still a minor. He gave me a card and told me to call him in a couple months. I told him to drop dead.

But like...I had over $18k in debt already. This creep wanted to make pedo porn of me. I clearly was uncomfortable and wanted him to leave me alone. He did not care and that is how most people get their lives ruined. Porn is not fucking ethical.

I'm not religious. I don't care about any of that crap, but sexually exploiting young people is evil and anyone who consumes abuse images is not ethical.

Why do you people never consider the sex workers who have been telling us for ages that making porn illegal would only hurt people more? Including actual victims of exploitation who now can't get help without risking going to jail themselves? How can you not fathom the idea of people who enjoy doing sex work and who would gladly do it for free? Why is this standard only applied to porn and no other industry? What about the plenty of artists and actors who make indie porn uploaded to R34 or onlyfans or smth who are obviously not being exploited? And what about the people doing back-breaking labor for minimim wage that's not sexual but is absolutely exploitative? What exactly about sex makes exploitation worse?

A Jewish friend told me about this story where a man went to his rabbi having decided not to fund an orphanage because Actually he wanted to fund the orphanage to make himself feel good and not because he actually cared about the orphans but because it would make him feel good to do so, and he felt that it was ultimately selfish to do something just for his own gain. And his rabbi basically called him an idiot and told him to go fund the orphanage because good work is good work even if you perform a good act for a selfish reason.

And I think about that in this type of conversation. Okay the celebrity only donated to look good and to get more fans. And the charity probably really could use the 50k so why are we complaining exactly? Do you or do you not want the charity to get the funding it needs? Oh the politician only votes that way because they want more people to vote for them? Yeah that is like. The definition of politics. A politician acts a certain way because the people who put that person in power said that's what they want to see. Do you... not want trans rights to be protected???

I don't want people to get disappeared. I don't want people to be sent to prison camps with no hope of due process or extraction. I don't want prison camps to exist at all! I don't want kids in cages and I don't want air raids on apartment buildings and I don't want the National Guard to be called on our own population. I want kids to be able to go to school in peace and I want them to be able to eat every day and I want them to feel safe and sheltered in their homes with their families. I want trans people to be able to live their truth and I want people to be able to marry whatever consenting adults they want and I want the race wars and gender wars to stop and I want reproductive healthcare to stop being such a nightmare to navigate and I want free healthcare for all and I want free education for all and I want UBI and I want better public transportation and I want infrastructure that doesn't make living with disability a fool's errand. I want affordable food and I want a living wage and I want every single person to be housed and fed and warm and dry. I don't want to spend any more money on bombs and fighter jets and shadow assassinations and covert operations and drone strikes and espionage. I want to spend that money giving back to the countries and the people we've been subjecting to the American Empire Machine and helping them piece themselves back together and apologizing for the mess we've left behind.

I don't really care if the politician getting that done has a morally pure reason for doing so. Are they doing the work that needs done? Then it doesn't matter to me if they're just doing it just because their voters told them to rather than from a place of personal conviction. The work needs doing. So let's do it.

I don't give a damn whether you're attacking Jews because you believe in white supremacy or because you're trying to free Palestine. You're attacking Jews. You're killing us.

You are functionally the same as a neonazi or klansman. You are doing the same exact thing.

I believe the US Democrats do want to help Jews as much as Palestinians. I think they're fine and we're better off with them in power. That's not all Democrats (cough Mamdani cough), but it's most.
