There was a bee sitting on the windowpane. Or maybe it was a wasp.

Gansey couldn’t really tell. He tried not to look at it. Just sometimes, when he glanced over at Adam scribbling furious notes, or Ronan ignoring schoolwork in favor of antagonizing their teacher (Mrs. Wellington, the history substitute), he could catch a glimpse of yellow in the corner of his eye.

When he turned around the bee was gone. The window was empty of flying death, only spring roses and old buildings visible through the glass.

OTP: I do actively enjoy and write Adam/Ronan and I have a soft spot for Adam/Blue - and I will take Adam/Henry to my grave!

BroTP: Adam and Gansey and, of course, the unbeatable trio of Adam + Declan + the Gray Man… I want them to go on adventures sooooo bad!!!

OT3: Does a OT5 count? Because I am a die-hard fan of Gansey/Ronan/Adam/Blue/Henry… They are my children and they are some sort of polyanmorous/queer platonic life partner friend group where no one knows who is dating who

Gansey- Lana del Rey is his sad girl of choice. She sings a lot about Americana and wealth, which are things that gansey experiences a significant amount of angst over. Her ideals of masculinity match those of gansey, who feels that he can't ever attain them for himself.

Blue- Blue is a mitski girl. She struggles a lot with feelings of isolation and "otherness", and her experiences growing up as the psychic's daughter in a small town means she can belt "your best American girl" with her whole chest. Mitski is also small enough- at least in 2012/2013- that it would appeal to Blue's desire to other herself in deliberate ways that she chooses.

Ronan- Marina and the Diamonds. It's sexy, it's electronic based, it has themes of self destruction - what more could he ask for? Marina plays a lot with themes of persona, which Ronan "I act scary to protect myself" Lynch can definitely relate to, and I think that the song "teen idol" is definitely something that dream thieves era Ronan would relate to- being in a spiral and having the desire to make the spiral worse, just for the hell of it. I also think that cdth Ronan would be able to identify with Marina's desire for more.

Adam- Lorde is Mr. Parrish's drug of choice. Lorde, like Lana, sings about wealth, but I think that Adam, self-made man, would like Lorde's version of it better- not coming from wealth, working to achieve it, feeling like an imposter. I also think that Ribs would have my man in tears on the regular. Adam is a tired man. "And we'll never be royals/it don't run in our blood" is an Adam line if I ever heard one. Lorde also plays a lot with the idea of being isolated/alone even when around other people, and Adam "unknowable" Parrish definitely can relate to that.

Noah- Paramore isn't strictly a sad girl- Hayley Williams is our front, but it is a band, and the band does have men in it. However, it is the best fit for him. Noah had a blink-182 sticker on his car for chrissake. I think his love for Hayley Williams maybe is a tad uncomfy for the people around him because the more he talks about her the more clear it is that he's definitely has at least one sexual fantasy involving her.
