Are there any Pokémon that esp remind you of aspects of Cree culture?
Unfortunately no. Which is a big part of why I've created my own characters. There is a few "native" looking Pokemon like xatu, natu but that is more aztec mayan feeling to me. Other than animals that actually exist in Canada like wolves eagles and birds nothing really screams out Cree specifically. It doesn't feel creative or intentional enough.
There is zapdos which has origins from it but it also doesn't feel intentional enough. Like how so many Alolan pokemon really give different feels of Hawaiian nature and connection I would love to see that.
I have two grookey plushies I was given to by a man who runs a claw game place. He was very rude to me and called me a stupid foreigner not expecting me to understand. I went back because it was the only place I found Galar plushes ever. He felt bad the next day when I saw him again he gave me 2 grookey plushies.
I had bought some moccasins that day and was feeling very special and thinking of home. So I named them Sakihakan and miyosiw which means loved one and beautiful. Or just saki and miyo as a nickname.
I like to think of a native girl playing flute music while her grookeys drum around and make the forests and plants grow from their song. That would be beautiful.
I'm sure if I could think of more personal connections there are more but just looks wise not many come to mind.
