Maned wolves (Chrysocyon brachyurus) are omnivorous! Their diet consists of roughly equal parts vegetation and small animals, and they play a part in dispersing seeds throughout the cerrado. One particular fruit, the lobeira or wolf apple, is an important staple: it can make up over 50% of ingested fruit biomass in some seasons.
