THE DEAD POETS HAVE CHILDHOOD STUFFIES :)
For Neil it was a dog, a tiny brown and white dog with yarn fur. It was a gift from some relative, given to his parents before he was born. He named it smth like Patroclous (he was a big Greek mythology enthusiast in my mind) but he never told that to anyone because he thought it was dumb. He slept with the doggy every single night until he was around 10, then he went into "I'm too old for sleeping with toys" phase. But he still kept it in his bed all the time. He's kinda grown out of it now, but he still keeps it with him like a private comfort item. The only one that knows about it is Charlie, and eventually Todd too.
Then Todd, his was a white bunny, with huge ears and really soft fabric. This one has an interesting story, the bunny wasn't really Todd's, it belonged to his kindergarten teacher and was kept in the classroom as decoration. But Todd was allowed to play with it for enough time that he developed a childlike attachment to it, and would cry when he had to go home. Eventually, his teacher decided to gift it to him. His parents protested saying it wasn't right, but the teacher still handed it to Todd and told him to keep it. And Todd did, of course he did. He would keep it safe under his pillow all day, and then come back at night and check on it. He still has it, but he never gets it out of his suitcase, partially because he's embarrassed about it and also because he's afraid it will get damaged.
Charlie's was a red, sparkly dragon. There's not an actual story of this, his parents bought him a LOT of toys, the dragon was just another one of them. It wasn't like he carried all around or only played with it, again, he had plenty of other toys and stuffies. But the dragon was HIS favorite. When he played with Neil and their friends, they'd make a mess with a bunch of stuffies and other toys, and he'd let them use whatever they wanted from his room EXCEPT for that red dragon. He also gave the thing lore and like insane superpowers. The dragon is still at his house, he's not exactly attached, just remembers it from among the rest.
Meeks' was a duck. But not like a cute realistic duck-shaped one. It was a weird old fashioned humanoid duck, with big cartoon eyes and a colorful bow tie. It was a gift from his grandmother for his 2 year old birthday. His parents sometimes joked about how she couldn't find a more normal one. He thought it was really cool, other kids thought it was funny looking. He never really had any special attachment to it, until he started growing up and it became the first and only stuffed animal he kept. Still has it.
Pitts. Idk if I've said this hc before but I think he was/ forever will be obsessed with dinosaurs. So like, you would expect a dinosaur, but it's not. It's a cow. Like a small fluffy cow with button eyes, his parents made it when he was a baby. He actually did have one stuffed stegosaurus that he adored, but it kinda came in second place. When he was little, his parents had a few cows in the farm, and Pitts would carry the stuffed one outside and show it to the real ones. The stego and the cow were siblings fr.
So Cameron, his is a bear, not really a teddy bear, it was more bear than teddy. lol. It originally belonged to his older brother. Cam never had a lot of stuffed animals, but he had a whole family of bears, five of them, all different shapes and colors. He kinda imitated his own family with them, and of course his favorite was the one who represented himself, it was like his silly sona. He treated them like their own little persons, made them have dinner, go to bed at night, wake up the next day, do homework. He never gave them voices or anything, he just moved them around their usual routine along with his own. It was comforting to keep it like that. Hasn't seen the bears since he started Welton.
Anyway Knox's childhood stuffie is a spiderman he got for christmas at 5yrs old and got obsessed for the next years of his life. He was the kind of kid who would carry it EVERYWHERE, watching TV, having dinner, brushing his teeth, going to bed, going to the mall, to his grandparents house, to the park... everywhere. The toy was hideous at the end of the day, his mom was so tired of having to wash it every other week. I js think Knox was a big fan of Spiderman.
