The thing that drives me up the absolute wall with companies using AI is that, like... you're selling a PRODUCT. A physical thing. That exists. And if you're using AI to advertise it, then you're not advertising what you're selling whatsoever. That doesn't exist. What the fuck.
Why the fuck would a genuine company think that people who are looking at their product want to see something that doesn't actually exist? If someone's looking at potentially buying your product, they want to see THE PRODUCT! So why would you even consider using AI? Why would you explicitly choose to advertise a fake thing thing you're not selling and not, you know... the thing you're actually selling.
Hence, AI advertising to just screams scam. It tells me that if you're not using real photos to advertise your product, you're trying to hide the real product's actual quality to trick people into buying it. Because why would a reputable business need to magic up fake photos of a product they have unless it was a lot shittier than they want it to appear. (The obvious answer here is it's cheaper, but if a company wants to trade reputability for more money in their pockets, I'll kindly take my money somewhere else, because that tells me a clear message about how their employees are being paid)
So, please for the love of God keep refusing to buy from these shitty companies. Make them realise that fake photos of real products won't get them anywhere and will just get them treated like scams. Teach those vulnerable how to recognise this bullshit so they can avoid the real scams. And if you want me to buy something from you, for fuck's sake put a little bit of effort in and show me the actual product you're selling.
