Intro post

Hi! I've been on tumblr for a while now, and I finally decided to make an intro post.

You can call me Lilith, William, or any of the nicknames that come from William, and I'm a 20 year old college student and writer. Currently you can use any pronouns for me!

Feel free to ask me about any of my ocs!

This is mainly a writing blog, but I will also reblog a lot of fandom stuff, posts my mutuals make, and anything interesting I see on my for you page. I do a lot of reblogs, but all of my original posts will be tagged #my post.

I love tag games and ask games, both writing related and in general! I also really like getting to know other writers on here!

If you've tagged me in something and I didn't respond, it's definitely not personal! I probably didn't have enough writing prepared and then when I did, I either lost your post in my notifications or thought it was too late to respond without being awkward

i don’t know who needs to hear this, but you don’t have to, like, justify your aspec identity.

you can just say “i’m aromantic/asexual/aplatonic/agender/afamilial/any other aspec identity”. you don’t have to add on the “but i still experience X type of love” or “but i can still have friends” or whatever, especially because there are people who don’t experience any type of attraction. i’m not saying those things can’t be true, i’m saying you don’t have to use them to make your identity seem more appealing in the eyes of allo people.

whatever type of attraction you do or don’t experience does not determine your worth as a human being, and you don’t owe people an explanation.

my futile wish is for people to understand that "sex scenes in movies/TV don't have to serve the plot and can genuinely just be for pleasure" and "sex-repulsed people are allowed to complain about how rare it is for media made for adults like them to be something they can enjoy completely" are both true statements. unfortunately society hates both sex and people who don't like sex, so everyone gets far too defensive about any sex or lack thereof in fiction to actually have this conversation

My family went on vacation so my sister can look at a few out of state universities, which is why I've been less active on tumblr the past couple days. Anyway, we're staying in a hotel, and I'm wondering if we did something to piss off the people in the room above us. Those people are being so fucking loud at night. It sounds like they are moving furniture or doing construction, and I can't wait until Sunday, when we're going back home to our quiet house.

Something I do find lovely about the first 4 Murderbot Diaries books (can’t yet speak on all of them) is:

Murderbot chronically finding new scientists/travellers to claim as “clients” (whether paid or not) like one of those sheepless herding dogs that goes around finding sheep (or anything else they can herd like a flock of sheep). Like it clearly has a protect humans instinct and a desperate need for enrichment.

Given its general lack of self awareness and unreliable narrator status, there’s no way in hell Murderbot is aware it’s doing this.

YOU ARE NOT TOO YOUNG TO BE AROMANTIC OR ASEXUAL. If you are old enough to be reading this on social media you are NOT too young to be aspec. The average age people start getting romantic crushes is early childhood and the average age people start experiencing sexual attraction is like 10 (generally, during early puberty). Yes, you might be a late bloomer, yes, it might change- but that doesn’t make you not allowed to identify as aspec right now if you find that useful. Even adults’ orientations sometimes change! That doesn’t mean your current experience is not real or worthy of a name and community.
