I'm 32 and I can't draw. I refuse to be someone that participates in AI slop, so, I'm gonna start drawing. One sketch a day. I figure, I can't get any worse than I already am. So, starting today, July 1st, 2026, I'm gonna sketch a Pokemon a day. In order. No fancy supplies, just a cheap sketchbook and a #2 pencil. I genuinely started crying because like, no, I'm not a paleontologist. No, I'm not a scientist at all. But. I teach science. I volunteer at a paleontology lab. I have a house, kids, a loving SO. I have a good relationship with my in laws. I have a family that checks in with me. I have a wonderful group of friends that I see regularly. Hell, I play video games with my 3rd grade best friend every week. I'm going to a concert with one of my besties for my birthday. I can drive, I can make some fantastic meals, I can garden, paint, stay up late. I definitely focus too much on the negative, but this? I needed this. I needed the reminder that I do have a good life.
