Because i think in the show it gives the caster what they need,not what they want(unlike the goat that gives the holder what they want)

But when Noire asked Cocci for a parachute it implied that she can control what the lucky charm ends up being

This is more just my head cannon for the show, but I always thought that Marinette never picked her lucky charm because she needed something to go off of (any random object would do), because if she picked she would have decision paralysis (cuz she would have too many ideas) and would have a nervous breakdown. So Tikki supplies her with an object. Marinette is smart and creative, so she could work with anything Tikki supplies her with.

I think Adrien as Mr. Bug can genuinely pick his lucky charm like Lila can, but his ideas don’t always pan out exactly like he thought they would, and he has to do something different than expected with his lucky charm. I think it may also be mood dependent for him, like sometimes he picks, and sometimes he leaves it up to Tikki, you know?
