My Favorite Anime Is King Of The Hill

when I was in undergrad I had this professor who spontaneously decided in the middle of a class on, as far as I could tell, a completely unrelated topic to go on a bizarre tirade about how human pregnancies are actually 10 months long and saying it's 9 months is a patriarchal attempt to minimise women's suffering. she very confidently justified this by explaining that there are four weeks in a month, so 40 weeks is 10 months.

when someone pointed out that a month (except February) is actually four weeks and two to three days, and that 40 weeks (280 days) is a lot closer to 9 months (275 days) than it is to 10 months (305 days), she told him to stop mansplaining.

imagine being on your lunch break, and your supervisor comes over to your table, tells you to stand up in front of everyone. they draw everyone's attention to your thighs. they tell you that you have broken the dress code because of the length of your shorts. they tell you to go change (so you do not get the rest of your lunch break). they do this every single day at lunch. every day. so you read the whole dress code front and back, and you choose your clothing carefully to not break it. you bring a cloth tape measure with you to work because they will not believe you. this time when your supervisor tells you that you're breaking dress code, you pull out your tape measure and show that you are within the limit. your supervisor says "I bet you wouldn't want me to bring you to the boss and let him measure it, would you?" it's clearly a threat: if you don't obey then you will be put alone in a room with your boss and he will touch your thighs. you don't know how to respond. you're taken out of lunch again.

He is played by Andreas Katsulas, whom sadly died quite a while back.

Of all the various interviews with the cast and crew over the years, there are two constants that keep turning up. Mr. Katsulas was a very kind, sweet man. And that he absolutely loved G'Kar. He loved reading about G'Kar, he loved playing G'Kar, and he loved being G'Kar.

The other alien actors would have their prosthetics removed almost as soon as they were no longer needed for the day. But not Mr Katsulas. They say he'd be in full make up and full costume from the moment he arrived, to when he left, and never complained.

Walk around a random corner in the studio and run into G'Kar. Step out of the sound stage, and squatting by the door in full makeup and leather costume, smoking a cigarette under the hot sun was G'Kar.

You may also remember him as the occasional thorn in Picard's side, Romulan Commander Tomalak.

Very similarly, Harry Morgan often talked about how Colonel Potter of M*A*S*H was his favorite role, and would occasionally admit he'd have been happy to play Potter for the rest of his life.
