In the Pusher when Mulder is pointing the gun at Scully and he’s trying so hard to ignore Modell’s persuasion to shoot her and he breathlessly whispers her name that is still one of the most romantic scenes in TXF

I know we all like to joke about Skinner being put into situations because of Mulder and Scully and getting his ass kicked or even nearly killed because of their crusade—BUT! It’s so beautiful when you realize that at some point it also became his crusade, too. Of course, his motivation is still and will always be Scully and Mulder, but even without their involvement the truth is still something he will put his life on the line for. I just love how much he changes because of them.
