I'm still reading but figured I'd take a break and get the visuals in my head on paper. Excited to watch the movie when I'm done :]

Some of you probably remember me complaining about how much I'm hating my colour use. I deliberately tried to stay within a limited palette for this one, using reference photos, used the bare minimum of effects layers, relying on putting the exact colours down instead of a base which I then try and correct with overlay and stuff, and used almost exclusively organic looking brushes mostly from pencil and paintbrush. It's looking a little yellow on this monitor versus my tablet but that's probably just my late-night filter I use to avoid blasting blue light into my eyeballs at 11pm. I'm actually really proud of the final result.

I'm really amused at the idea of Rocky having one-sided beef with Stratt.

he spent all that time believing he was brave and good, acting as though he were someone who made that choice. if he hadn't spent all that time allowing himself to believe that he was someone capable of being brave, if he had known from the start that he hadn't volunteered, he might not have had the courage to go back and save rocky. but he did. because if he'd done it before, he can do it again. even when it turns out that what he the thought he'd done wasn't what truly happened, he'd already lived with the reality too long to be unchanged by it.
