we did not talk much near the end, so i have no idea what he thought of the show as a whole or if he would have been happy with how it ended. i know he loved the deep because he found him funny (he insisted on showing me a couple of scenes, like the one where he accidentally kills a dolphin by braking his car, and another where his gills talk to him) so yeah. i have been avoiding the show because it reminds me of him, but now that it is over, i might finally check it out.
