For most of us, college/university is hella expensive- even if some of us may have government schemes or something else to fall back on as safety nets, it ends up costing quite a bit. But as it stands now, a degree is important to access certain jobs which in turn can help with accessing a better life.

For close to two years now, students in Gaza have been living a life of uncertainty. When I talk to my friends, they often tell me how difficult it has been to access even the most basic necessities of life. Still they are persevering with the hope that one day they will rebuild both Gaza and their lives back. They have enrolled themselves in online courses and distance learning programs and are working hard to get a degree. However these cost money- from renting a space, to paying for both electric and net connection to do the course work. So to help with that, Gaza based ISNAD FOUNDATION ( reblogged by Nabulsi ) has been started and for now it is sponsoring 30 students. The goal is to raise $2000 USD per month to cover these bases. So please spread the word and donate if you can.

The occupation spreads ignorance in Gaza by bombing schools and universities and killing engineers and educated people, but we stand in the face of all this and fight the occupation with science!

We have received $600/$2000 so far for next month’s rent and only 5 days left to complete this amount, so they published this post everywhere in order to complete the learning process in Gaza.

I have been lucky till now, to not know what it is like to go hungry. But I cannot say that it is the same for everyone. For more than four weeks now, the borders have been closed and no aid has been allowed to enter Gaza. As such, bakeries have closed down, and the flour available in the market is sparse and expensive. I know all this is probably old news, but for Gazans this is a reality they face everyday. Everyday is a struggle to survive, a struggle to stretch the remaining rations one more day, cause there is just not enough funds to buy food.

My friend Siraj Abudayeh is tired. He is tired of coming online and requesting for donations and then getting his blogs deleted for it. He is tired of this genocide, of seeing his kids and family struggle to survive. So, I request you to help however you can, either by donating or by boosting- Siraj is currently supporting TWENTY FOUR family members, TEN of whom are children. The kids have already started to show the signs of malnourishment more visibly and it is a terrible thing to witness...so please help however you can.

people live in them

they're talking about how they're no longer interested in dating because their female friends treat them better than boyfriends do. they're realizing that being single is always better than being in a bad relationship. it's becoming a lot more normal and fun and hot for women to be single at any age. the women who have settled down with truly good men in truly happy relationships are encouraging other women to not take any shit because the right man won't need to be "trained". they're talking about how their mothers and grandmothers warned them to get a job and not get married, and they followed the advice.
