First, a Happy Memorial Day to all American friends!

Second, you’d think it was a stat holiday for me today considering the amount of investigating I managed to complete. I feel slightly weird about undertaking this, as it’s definitely a first for me. But considering the amount of interviews we had over the last little while I thought I’d clear up some locations.

1. Sunset Tower Hotel

From pictures from the Sunset Tower Hotel website this looks like a suite.

Hotel is close to the Sunset Strip and in the general vicinity of the next location.

2. Bird Streets Villa

Here we have a historic old Hollywood Spanish style home that is often used for film and photoshoots.

This was the location for the Entertainment Weekly interviews among others, including this one ⬇️

3. Mystery (Sam’s) Location

This one is a little bit of a mystery.

However, after the FYC event on Friday, May 15th Sam was tagged in what appeared to be the backyard of this (or another) location before the event by either his stylist or someone else else who is apart of his entourage. But the tag now appears to be gone, or I can’t find it.

From the photo you can see the dark fencing in the background so was this AN’s place before he moved? I’m not so well versed on his LA lodgings. The tagged photo had a similar exterior shot as this ⬇️

So what does this all mean?

Some will reduce it to a mere coat of clear polish — the essence of a basic manicure. Yet I recognize the same thumb — here and there.

Listen for yourself. IMO there is obviously a child crying in the next room during Sam’s interview. I think it’s hilarious that said child starts crying when Sam is talking about about how his OL character Jamie was hotheaded when he was younger! 😂🤣😂

That’s Ronald D. Moore and Terry Dresbach back in the day. He was her boss and they were secretly dating until their relationship went public...then they lost their jobs.

Yeah, we’ve seen the same thing in real life...Maybe this is why Sam and Caitriona’s relationship is still so secret...(open secret)

Let’s not forget when Terry congratulated Sam and Caitriona on February 27, 2016 with 9 X’s and O’s...for what I wonder?? 🤔

 Look at the last paragraph in this article, there’s a line there: “Hey, gotta give it to them for being honest.”  To me, that was a loaded statement because the TITLE question was in relation to REAL LIFE! JMHO, Folks.

I don't know the man personally, so it's hard to be truly 'happy' about his professional achievements in the same way I'm happy for the successes of people who are actually close to me. (On Tumblr, of course, I can always express my 'happiness' about this or that — but that’s narrative joy, not the kind that runs in one’s veins.)

That said, I was genuinely pleased to see yesterday/today’s (October 27, 2025) Instagram story on Sam’s account ⬇️⬇️⬇️

Knowing the range of his classical, stage-trained acting skills from many key episodes of Outlander, yes — I also believe that Sam was born far more to play Macbeth than to play someone like Rob Burns in Love Again.

(Between us: how much of the audience associated the stiff-as-a-board jurnalist from Love Again — perpetually balancing between overwrought comedy and a Bollywood romance — with Scotland’s national poet, whose work Sam claims to admire? I’ll answer my own question: very few.)

And here I’ll loop back to my earlier point:

In the same way, I’m convinced that Sam was born to have, in his private life, the right to be a steady husband and father — not a 45-year-old man who keeps going from one new girlfriend to another.

First, it's not the classic Macbeth that we've seen played by other actors. This is a gritty, dirty 'West Side Story' version, without dancing & vocals and Sam, IMO, fits this model perfectly. Stepping on stage, he brings the audience into his mindset, his quest for power. He's standing in his element, showing his audience that he's achieved his goal. Is this how Sam felt when conquering his experience on Everest as well? Or standing in front of family & business friends, sharing the news of his Galloway Distillery's acquisition? If this is the Sam that we've seen for 11 years, coming full circle, just think how he would appear with his most cherished woman by his side, embracing all that he's achieved?

After reading @sgiandubh’s insightful post, one can’t help but pause and ask: How important are we, really—and to whom? To 'them'? But then—who exactly are 'they'?

Who considers us, the Tumblr fandom, significant enough to be addressed, courted, provoked, or entertained with carefully placed hints, familiar gestures, and emotional cues?

This, at its core, is the essence of marketing: to shape a narrative effectively, one must first know precisely whom one is speaking to. The more clearly defined the audience is, the easier it becomes to influence it—whether gently or manipulatively.

And perhaps we may go one step further: A niche audience kept emotionally involved—even if the emotions are irritation, skepticism, or outright indignation—will inevitably do part of the promotional work on its own. Because attention, even negative attention, still circulates the message.

So tell me honestly—who else but us could decode the nuances of a photobomb?

To whom but us could that nonverbal message from behind the Main Character possibly be directed? Who else but us would recognize the Merry Widow, sidling up with a smirk and brushing ever so casually against a man's back? Who else but us (and yes, I include “The Other Side” in this) would go on to assign romantic connotations to it (brrr…)? Who else but us, the Tumblr fandom, has been trained by years of experience to scan every background for the slightest disruption to the image (🧛🏻‍♂️)?

Hold on—let me increase the resolution 🔍🔍🔍

Or this: who even remembers anymore the stiff, tense (and growing by the week) 'postpartum belly' (this photo is from late October 2021)?

Reality runs on its own track, and the (fantastic) Narrative runs alongside it—parallel. And photobombing plays a meaningful role in shaping that Narrative. Although, of all the photobombs, my favorites are the ones like the one below: a quiet hotel in the suburbs of Edinburgh, during a time when there were no filming days for the show. Those are the photobombs you’re welcome to send me more of.

Because even if I am being used to serve some ignoble marketing purpose— I’m still entertained by it. Truly. 🤪

I think the right thing to do would be to show that person the exit🤣🤣🤣🤣 No joke, when someone comes to me and talks to me about this, I always say that this should be fun and if shipping isn't doing that person any good, they should, for the sake of their mental health, put an end to it. And I also make a point of reminding the person that just because they stopped being a shipper doesn't mean they should become a hater of SC or other shippers.

During all these years of fandom, I know maybe only 5 people who managed to stop shipping and didn't become haters, never ridiculed shippers, or even mentioned Outlander. These are people who have truly overcome this and are in another chapter. All the others live on the lookout, quietly criticizing those who still ship or have become outright haters. They clearly "stopped shipping", but they haven't gotten over the ship and I think that's extremely harmful to someone's mental health.

I know 2 very prominent 'Shipper' bloggers that left this year. One being a good friend. She told me that she no longer has an interest as they've managed to, with their outward choices, create a stale taste in her mouth. She believes they are a couple, with children, but has no desire to participate and deactivated her long time Tumblr blog. Too bad that many who did leave didn't have her attitude & just let it go.
