"A power couple is two people who are pretty impressive separately, but together they're a true force to be reckoned with, and that takes a special kind of magic"
Gore, Joanne & Paul
I asked both of them about what is often spoken of as their “engagement.”
Gore: “Joanne and I were nearly married, but that was at her insistence and based entirely upon her passion not for me but Paul. Paul was taking his time divorcing his first wife, and Joanne calculated that the possibility of our marriage would give him the needed push. It did.”
Joanne: At one point we decided we were engaged. I can’t remember if Paul and I had broken up or not—it doesn’t matter. Either Gore’s mother or his grandmother was concerned because he hadn’t gotten married. We pretended that we were having an affair or something. We got a kick out of it, because it was in the newspaper. I couldn’t see Gore and me getting married—oh, heavens—but we did have a great time together. Gore, Howard, Paul, and I had one of those rare life experiences where we shared special, special times. I certainly miss those times.”
-Vanity Fair
In the piece, Joanne Woodward recalls pretending to have an affair with Vidal, who was gay, as a way of placating his family and perhaps as cover for her relationship with the not-quite-divorced Paul Newman. - Los Angeles Times
And the rest is a wonderful love story…
Joanne Woodward and her husband, Paul Newman, were among Vidal’s most intimate friends for six decades. Here, on one of their many trips to Italy, circa 1980, they are with Vidal on a boat taking them to his cliffside house in Ravello.
Thank you so much @jamesandclairefraser anon 😊 @cb4tb @nopromisessassenach
Now this interesting .. having thought I knew just about everything about Paul and Joanne .. I didn’t know this story .
Thanks for posting @the-sassynach !
Anything is possible…
Maybe Cait got her inspiration from them? Certainly seems like it…

According to shippers Sam has grabbed C's backside at OL events and giggles with her and it means they are having a secret romantic relationship. Why isn't it the same with John Bell?
Dear John Bell Anon,
You are clearly unfamiliar with British culture, and that includes humor. Irony ran fast to catch up with you - but you were faster, it would seem.
S was trolling everyone, yesterday evening. Including Madam Mao, who then felt compelled to bring back her Emo/Goth/Victorian (your pick) Virtuous Mourning number. And heavily push it forward on her socials, using again that little girl, albeit this time in a narrative fashion only. Because there is nothing left to try than passive-aggressive moralizing, when everything else failed miserably. Buried under an endless cascade of international giggles over Dashne's adventures of yore, especially considering the eerie resemblance of said adventures to her current gig romance BS.
Madam Mao's rationale being that you'd have to be a monster to comment on the authenticity of a woman's grief, and even more so when it includes a little girl. But since there is nothing private, nor organic about it, we are free to question. That does not make us monsters - only aware.
By the same token, all the fandom factions are now apparently well fed, for days. Including yours.
Things are very different, as far as C is concerned. And this reality seems to bother you so much, that you felt the urge to come back here and lecture me.
Respectfully fuck off.
Part two
At this point in time, I think trolling reached such an unprecedented level, that even Dashne is a very premeditated target.
Wow. Brilliant British humor move, here. Many will misread it at first degree and face value - but I don't think S cares. Brilliant screenshot of that particular picnic hamper only clarifies things.

*Yesteryear*
and why this is not off- topic
When I read the synopsis for *Yesteryear*, I assumed the book’s focus was "merely" the "tradwife" trend, and I also anticipated a plot involving time travel (silly me🙃). But what I actually discovered while reading this story was a raw and profound analysis of online versus offline personas.
The protagonist, Natalie—much like countless others who make a living (or attempt to) off their online image—takes you on a journey through the nuances of these two distinct worlds she inhabits. And during this literary voyage, you will inevitably pause to ask yourself: "Where have I seen this before?" "Is my online persona truly the same as my offline self?" "Is this online figure still a human being, or have they become nothing more than a product?"
As the book progresses, a crucial question emerges: What becomes of the mental health of someone living a double life?
Before the advent of the Internet, living a double life meant doing double the work. Today, thanks to filters, hashtags, and specialized agencies, it has become remarkably easy. Often, all it takes is a smartphone and an Internet connection to craft a narrative—an entirely different life. A few catchy captions, a flattering camera angle, and the "offline" persona’s terrible day are instantly transformed into the "online" persona’s picture-perfect day. But how long can the human mind endure such a strain?
Another question arises: Why do people flock to follow online personalities, so easily accepting what they see as reality—something never to be questioned—as if what is presented online were the absolute, unvarnished truth?
Natalie has a husband, a brood of children, and a farm—complete with livestock, crops, and all the gruelling labour that such a lifestyle typically entails. People admire her, marvelling at how she manages to handle it all—unaware that the *offline* Natalie can not handle any of it on her own. Yet, all that assistance—every mechanism operating behind the scenes of every single post—is never revealed online. It is two worlds, two personas, two Natalies—and a thousand products and ideas being sold. At a steep price—not just for the consumers, but for Natalie herself.
As I read, all of this reminded me of the mixed signals, the words that fail to align with actions, and the half-truths we have been witnessing right here for at least a dozen years. A life filled with motivational quotes from so many who arrived and departed like comets—lines published in articles containing misleading information. It seems that truth is something uninteresting online, and everything must be part of a performance.
But the ultimate questions this book presents to us are these: Why has what you need to be online become more important than who you truly are? Have you ever considered the price you are already paying—or will eventually pay—for this?
please tell me someone recorded this videos before they went private lol!!!
Dear Went Private Anon,
We did and I will re-upload them accordingly, in their respective posts. It's interesting to see both corporate You Tube accounts reacted almost in real time to this fandom's lèse-majesté mischief. Which consisted in sharing public, commercial content, made for public distribution and asking some questions - nothing more. I hope we won't be held responsible for the laughs: that comes sugar on top, perhaps, but I believe it was sort of inevitable.
I will say only this: why this -admittedly strange - scrubbing effort? Why the insecurity?
And again: who could have had the leverage to do such a thing in such an expedite manner?
Last, but not least: I hope they realize they replaced a blast from the past with a smear from the present. Maybe not the best solution.
[With many thanks to @margareth-lv, who took this wonderfully versatile screenshot. And to my prescient friend who did take precautionary measures - you know who you are.]
Can I steal him for a second?
Adding to the other clip that mystified many readers (https://www.tumblr.com/sgiandubh/817733490243207168/just-so-storiesany-similarity-to-actual-persons), this morning, and for a bit of extra context, the one Marple found - with all credits given, of course:
The Cashelor is an obvious spoof on The Bachelor reality show format. Part of Your Two Cents, a wider advertisement campaign devised by the Atlantic Credit Unions during the COVID-19 pandemic.
What is perhaps even more eerie, is - as I mentioned in the other post - Daisy Anne's striking resemblance to Flukenzie Floozy.
You can't make this shite up. Seriously.
PS: Gherkins, not cucumbers. At least this time.
Just so stories:"any similarity to actual persons, living or dead, is purely coincidental"
Leaving this here, for the sake of science:
Circa 2022.
Your Two Cents # advertisement campaign is not my initial find, and I must give credit to Marple. But this clip is even more monumental than the one she posted. Somewhat.
PS: Is it me, or Daisy-Anne is giving strong Flukenzie vibes? Oh, the irony.
Oh another Wannabe actress????How creative they are!
To those sitting on the fence who were using the argument, "But she has nothing to sell"—or "But she isn't in the same field as MM"—swallow your words now. And learn to observe patterns.
The truth always finds a way to the surface. Inevitably, the spotlight reveals that the most carefully crafted narratives are often the first to unravel.🙃🙃🙃
Location, Location, Location
First, a Happy Memorial Day to all American friends!
Second, you’d think it was a stat holiday for me today considering the amount of investigating I managed to complete. I feel slightly weird about undertaking this, as it’s definitely a first for me. But considering the amount of interviews we had over the last little while I thought I’d clear up some locations.
1. Sunset Tower Hotel
From pictures from the Sunset Tower Hotel website this looks like a suite.
Hotel is close to the Sunset Strip and in the general vicinity of the next location.
2. Bird Streets Villa
Here we have a historic old Hollywood Spanish style home that is often used for film and photoshoots.
This was the location for the Entertainment Weekly interviews among others, including this one ⬇️
From the links listed on the property Instagram you can see a different angle of this bedroom here:
3. Mystery (Sam’s) Location
This one is a little bit of a mystery.
However, after the FYC event on Friday, May 15th Sam was tagged in what appeared to be the backyard of this (or another) location before the event by either his stylist or someone else else who is apart of his entourage. But the tag now appears to be gone, or I can’t find it.
From the photo you can see the dark fencing in the background so was this AN’s place before he moved? I’m not so well versed on his LA lodgings. The tagged photo had a similar exterior shot as this ⬇️
So what does this all mean?
Mostly, I was bored at work today and felt like compiling some interview locations and what else is there to do?

Anatomy of a Pair of Sunglasses and an Ode to the Stars.
First, the couple's therapy video finally surfaces and resonates so strongly that even casual fans are commenting on the two of them. The details are scrutinized—the glances, the touches, the words. Then, someone here on Tumblr draws attention to a specific GIF he chose to repost. This came up in a post by Bat, and I commented that things were bound to become unbearable for the poor, insecure gf, and that she would feel compelled to do something about it. The response arrived (her insecurity never disappoints): a dog wearing sunglasses (a few years back, we had a dog wearing a cap). Someone on Tumblr then pointed out that the sunglasses weren't actually identical, and... *ta-da!*... he reposted the photo of the dog in sunglasses. The most interesting part of all this—aside from the confirmation that she actually reads Tumblr—is realizing just how much SC gets under her skin. How deeply insecure and unhappy it makes her to know that a significant number of people who see SC together can sense something between them—something so powerful that, no matter how hard she tries to appear relevant to him, she will never be able to evoke that same effect in others. Sometimes the stars align... And sometimes, someone thinks they can *force* the stars into alignment, forgetting that stars possess a light of their own. The brilliance of a star is generated deep within its core through a process known as nuclear fusion. The temperatures and pressures involved are so extreme that hydrogen atoms fuse together to form helium. This transformation releases a colossal amount of energy in the form of light and heat, which then travels across the vastness of space until it reaches our eyes. You cannot manufacture that. The light she has been attempting to project simply doesn't work—because it is, quite simply, something that cannot be intentionally fabricated.
PS- For the context of the photo, please read the hashtag. ⬇️
Bingo!
Btw,the llama in the kilt is everything! 😅😅
Tearin' it up!
Man, oh man! Couple's Therapy videos and photos are all over social media! Fans asked for it for so long and now they (we!) are eating it up like chocolate cake!! Josh must be in heaven!! Funny thing is, with these, people are "suddenly" aware of their chemistry and asking about it?! Some were chatting about it as "coming out of the cave"!! Others are questioning, changing their opinions, all over these particular set of videos and pics. (Great seguey!) It so happens over the last couple of weeks I spent a lot of time going through S/C photos to use in different post. In the process it became one great big rabbit hole! I went through different archives on here, my own photo gallery, Pinterest, and of course Google. I have gone through photos before of them but never as many as this. Several things became TOTALLY clear. I feel it is worth the extra time it will take reading this.
First, those who are long standing, faithful shippers. Over the years I have heard stories, seen photos of events, and got some real tea on the darling couple! Going through many archives was so enjoyable. Not only did it connect some dots for me, but it made me appreciate the hard work you all put in over the years! You have endured ups and downs and left a great trail for others like myself to visit. It truly felt calming (?!) and fun going through and seeing SO MUCH history of our couple/Outlander. The second half of that subject is for the non-believers or fence-riders. If you are either of those, I'm suggesting you take the trip I did through 12 years of photo history of the Outlander world and Caitriona and Sam. When you really start tracking ALL of it from the very beginning, to now, you begin to see something not so average. Not so normal for a television cast. It's ... more. Just more. Don't believe in shippers? Not sure of some aspect of the Cait/Sam relationship stories? I challenge you. Really dig from many sources. Follow their journey year by year. You will see something that doesn't fall under typical costar behavior or appearance. Even being a shipper myself, following the whole story like I did was enlightening! Just give it a try. Yes, I know things can change. Yes, I know there are pictures and videos out there that show other S.O.'s on both parties. But here's the thing. With those, there is no whole picture. You have bits and pieces. Plus, if you have gone through the complete history like I mentioned, you will notice that with the S.O.'s, there is so much missing. No comparison to what you see in the 12 years of S/C. Not even close. Think of it like a recipe. You want to use all the ingredients and not just pick and choose only what you feel like. It's ALL those ingredients together that make your product. It's the same with them. Gather all of it. Look at all of it as a whole. That's where you see a beautiful work of art. A beautiful couple. ❤️❤️❤️
Lord have mercy....

now he didn't need to use a gif of them kissing out of all the outlander GIFs there are but he did which is odd if he's in a committed relationship with another woman. You don't see other actors promoting their work by doing that
🤡

J'étais prest: Birthing pool interview - Season 6 promo
This is their old interview everyone is talking about in relation with C's last one with Elle Magazine, where she mentions Little Soul's birth moment. I have found it - with priceless help, gracias a ti, siempre -and downloaded it:
[Source: https://globalnews.ca/video/8645442/stars-of-outlander-on-season-6 - posted February 25, 2022]
It is a press day interview both of them did for The Morning Show (TMS) Canada. You know, that TV channel with the nice - but Mommie type - lady, I am sure all the veterans will recognize easily: Carolyn MacKenzie (isn't it ironic?).
You are welcome. You may say this is old news, but in this peculiar universe things like this always start to make sense with time.
Here is a transcript, especially for the Spanish Mafia's commodity 😘. The interesting part starts at 3:03 and lasts until 1:25 on the video timeline, and this is what I chose to transcript verbatim for you:
Carolyn MacKenzie: ' Well, in every season there are challenges. Uh, Caitriona, what would you say was the, one of the biggest challenges shooting this past season?'
C: ' God, we, we had quite a few... [S, interrupting: How many do you want?] Yeah. Um, you know, I think, well, we were shooting during the height of a lockdown. Um, so obviously we had a lot of, you know, the challenges of just what it's like to shoot a show and in COVID times. And, um, our production team worked really hard to make sure that we didn't have to compromise what our final product would be, that we didn't have to shoot in a way that wasn't, um, true to the nature of the expansiveness of what our show is normally. Um, but yeah, that was quite difficult. I think it's no secret that I was also, uh, getting larger by the day. Um, I was, I was pregnant this season. Um, and when you're running around, or trying to run around I should say, uh, shooting guns and, and, uh, trying to move agilely, um, it doesn't get that easy when you're about six months. So, uh, yeah. Right. It was ... But, you know, it was, it was great fun and everyone worked really hard to make sure it was a safe environment. '
S: ' Add to that the, you know, the, the, the middle of a Scottish winter, which is we don't normally shoot right the way through. So yeah, it was, they were pretty tough, so you did really well.'
Carolyn MacKenzie: ' Did everyone brush up on their first aid in case, you know, an emergency delivery?'
S: ' Um, I was ready. I was ready. I've had one of those little birthing pools, uh, by the side. You know?'
Ironically enough, AI transcribes it a bit differently. I chose the most reasonable version - but also the one with awful grammar:
Not being a native speaker, I won't venture speculating further. Make of this what you wish.

'You looked very young'
Apparently, I wasn't the only one to be moved by the ghost's revisited apparition:
[Source: Entertainment Weekly's IG account - posted May 17, 2026]
Believe what you want, by all means. Never saw the same public display of tenderness with any other person he's ever been associated with. Same goes for C.
Now, this is what I call organic. Ignore Fuckwit Matt - they seem to instantly be in their bubble, anyways. And this, nobody could make me believe otherwise. It's a mystery 😉.
For your consideration...
Yesterday was a day of shock and revelation to many people in here.
But not for me.
I simply hope I will find the time to answer an anonymous submission asking a very simple question which will be given a very long answer, with what I consider valid discussion points. But I also have a life and I will do this later.
What follows has just landed in my lap - thank you, always 😘💖- and I consider this eloquent enough:
[Source: @vicky_lynne120's IG account - posted May 15, 2026]
I find this particular video reel, which is included in the post, very interesting:
I could post a slo-mo version, which is even more clear, but effing Tumblr would not let me post more than one video per submission, so here are a couple of screenshots:
Red Arrow is You-Know-Who. Blue Arrow is the (in)famous Jennifer Allen, PR (less than) extraordinaire. You'd have to be either very new to this fandom or willingly/selectively blind, to have no idea who she is and what she orchestrated, over time: Flukenzie Floozy comes to mind and I am pretty sure there are more things under that lady's belt.
Seeing her in conference with You-Know-Who informs my inner, pondering conversation in a pretty clear direction.
Unlike her passive aggressive online presence, You-Know-Who seems pretty servile. She even closes the car door for an S who can't be arsed.
So let me count on my fingers, since I am a stupid shipper:
Dodge game tickets and attendance - check
Sidekicks (AN, Marina the MUA/or whatever she is) present - check: Marina the MUA (or whatever she is) was even seen yesterday night at the For Your Consideration screening event in LAX, even if it's been eons she is not remotely involved with OL, anymore. Or is she - and if so, with what, somewhat murkier side, of its/its cast PR?
The above being presented by fuckwits and trolls as evidence, ignoring or editing out such naggingly inconvenient factoids, at a critical timeline juncture point - check
All three of those nagging factoids have been seen before by veterans or people who tried to make sense of this #shitshow. At this point in time, it's a game of [insert name here] that is being played.
And yes, C was there too - this is the famous 'we'll watch it together' Landcon reference, that instantly made me suspicious: he was way too casual about it, for this not to be a shitshow subplot device. This also, we have seen before. Only this time, it's not the legs that are missing from the pic - it's the shoes that seem to be problematic, as a general trope reference. If you know, you know.
Re-runs are always somewhat underwhelming. This one is no exception.
Have I got more? Always. Yeah, the circus will linger a bit more in this town. Until many people in the audience will pack and leave:
[Later edit]: still the same 🧜black dress, little bolero to hide the trashy tattoos. Ho-hum, really. And women being left to their own devices by a forgetful S - check, too. Happened before, did not end well.
I've already said that we're watching a revamped version of MM. A very poorly revamped version, I might add.
