Hawke, stop that!
(Stop that.)
So, I’m reblogging this gorgeous piece again because it has haunted me all day, and a thought occurred to me that made my heart hurt a little less.
As much as I do tend to imagine this happening—Fenris becoming unintentionally triggered—I also think you could flip the panels from top to bottom and it would still be an accurate reflection of their relationship.
Sometimes Fenris gets lost in his own head, lost in the memories of his past, and Hawke offers a much needed quip to make him chuckle or smile. That’s one of the aspects of their relationship I especially enjoy.
So now, when I look at this, I view it from top to bottom first and let myself feel the full impact of the tragedy that is Fenris’s life. But then I view it from bottom to top and feel a bit of hope too.
