okay, opinion spitfire because this is in every persons dni.
-here is my opinions on proship: link. tldr: ship what you want who fucking cares. i do not actively consider myself proship bc i dont care about labels, but on a technical level i am.
-my opinion on "bad" media: you can like things like hazbin, potter, etc, while also not liking its creator. you can like media like tcoaal without supporting its ideals in the real world. you cant control your taste in things, but you choose how to respond to it. so long as you can separate the media from the real world, be critical of its creators and not mindlessly dickriding them, and acknowledge the flaws in the media itself-- youre fine. youre good, youre golden, youre great, move on.
-my opinions on dead dove: write what you want. see above ideas, i think this one explains itself by now. censorship is poison, especially to fanworks, and i will never support it. again, curate your own online experience. dead dove exists as a tag on every site with fanfiction for a reason, dodge it if you must.
-my opinions on generative ai: it is not art. it will never be art. its users will never be artists. i think theres a lot of nuance to the future of ai and its uses then, but as of right now, no.
next point. my f/os.
-i have countless f/os. i tried to keep track once upon a time, but lost count once i hit a few hundred. im basically doomed to fall in love with someone in every media i encounter. that being said, i have some "unhealthy" ships-- some dive into toxicity, abuse, incest, etc etc etc. i dont hide from these topics, and rather i find them to be incredibly important to my dynamics with my f/os and i actively revel in them. i do not romanticize them in the real world, they are merely the stories i have created with characters i love.
-my fixations and whatever f/o(s) im focused on change regularly, but a staple for me is darker topics. ive got adhd. my fixations are as consistent as funko pop production lines.
-im mostly sharing, but if im not, ill just block/avoid conversations.
-my interests are boundless. i like resident evil, tcoaal, most superhero medias, lots of britcoms, superwholock, borderlands, and lots more.

Being a Sword does have some overlap with being a Guard Dog but there's some important differences. A Guard Dog can go off leash. A Guard Dog needs to be trained, and rewarded, and serves out of love or duty or force or something. A Guard Dog is fundamentally a living animal that acts in a specific way due to its instincts or its desires or its sense of love and loyalty. A Sword might have all of those things. A Sword might feel love, a Sword might hate, a Sword might want affection. The fundamental difference is that it doesn't matter what a Sword feels or thinks. It's a Sword. It doesn't matter if it hates you. It doesn't matter if you love it. It cuts just the same.
I think ao3 is literally the only site where no censorship means no censorship. you can post the most vile things on there — things that will get taken down on any other platforms — and ao3 will protect you, your works, and your rights to create whatever you want, however you want.
and no, this isn’t me saying “write that messed up, disgusting thing” because while, yes, write it if it’s what you want (I myself enjoy writing dark fics, something I believe would be considered “vile” to a lot of people), this is me saying in a world of censorship and capitalism, ao3 really is a treasure.

has anybody else noticed that the classic sci fi novel Don’t Create The Torment Nexus features a Torment Nexus? that’s pretty problematic of the author
the main character eventually recognizes the torment nexus is bad but by that point I had already stopped reading the book because I don't condone the torment nexus, the narrative really should've condemned it outright :/

i’m trying to say this thought in a nice and genuine way because i do mean it in a nice and genuine way and i worry it will just come across as “your faves are not as hot as you think they are lol” but i think fandom, being a setting where it’s normal to publicly wax lyrical about how beautiful you find someone, is somewhere you can really see the truth of the statement that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. as an outsider looking in, you can tell how when people start loving a character or personality, a lot of the time something just switches, and they suddenly perceive like unfathomable lifechanging beauty in this person that i think they could probably see in anyone if they looked with that much love. i’m very charmed by it and what it says about how a lot of people look at who they love in the rest of their life
i rbed this back in like february or smth but im rbing it again purely cuz im getting back into metalocalypse and remembering how stupidly beautiful i think Pickles is and how ive been in love w him since i was a kid but i show anyone else the show and am reminded that he looks like this
