I finally trying to paint again but I got distracted in the middle of the big huge gonna-be-50-hour painting (that is obviously not this one) because of moving shit to my new computer so I let myself draw the stupid mary sue instead because I've been needing a new PFP for my non-art twitter/tumblr accounts anyways
Just as I finally got all this put together, I realized there's four more minor characters whose designs aren't on here because they were quickly sketched in a different style. RIP

I didn't like the way that last painting looked as a userpic on twitter and its been bugging me. I guess my primary reason for learning to paint things in the first place (to have a cute forum signature or social media avatar) are finally curing my long art burn out as well as anything has.
Havenât posted progress gifs in forever, figured I should dump them all in one go to make it even weirder
So long story short I gave myself anime boy brainworms to try to make them fight my burnout and it worked for once
I stopped posting wips much years ago because in fandom spaces theyâd get reblogged as much as the finished piece and Iâm self-conscious that I donât color inside the lines until the last step when I fix my edges
But if youâre not on twitter itâs pretty fucking apocalyptic out there tonight, buds. Iâm staying here no matter how that shit shakes down over there, but as a result it feels nice to post something now even though I donât have anything big to show.
I think all that really polished social media, the âI canât share stuff that looks like Iâm still working on it,â the âI canât tell people how I really feel about things and I have to fake the toxic positivity of the industryâ played a big role in why stepping back from freelancing just to focus on my day job caused this immense burn-out for me that Iâve just now finally come back from. Twitter has been a lifeline for a lot of people, and I donât wanna knock itâs use that way, but the being-attacked-by-your-peers-over-clout-ass-bullshit-while-you-have-to-feign-a-sense-of-professionalism and the pace you had to work at to keep folksâ attention was holding me underwater for a bit there

Well I just realized I actually had real art I could have shown yâall from the last year instead of like, a cursed drawing that steals some of your life force painfully, sorry about the mix up
in the hellish alternate universe where tlt is a shitty cishet ya series, the first book is called âa house of bones and bloodâ. gideon is a cis man and harrow is marketed as a âfeminist prince zuko redemption arcâ. griddlehark make out during the pool scene but harrow still canât get over her feelings for palamedes, who explodes later on in the book to save harrow from cytherea. camilla, the Strong Woman Character, breaks down and cries and loses her sense of purpose. in book 2, âa house of spirits and secretsâ, cis man ianthe manages to capture harrowâs heart, to the ire of palamedes and gideonâs ghosts, until the end of the book when jod breaks iantheâs evil spell on harrow. camilla returns to bring harrow to blood of eden, the evil terrorist rebel group that all of jod's lyctors joined. jodybeth is the only canon queer pairing but itâs not confirmed until after they both die in the final book, "a house of love and loyalty". harrow escapes blood of eden and fights off the villainous camilla (who hates harrow out of jealousy for palamedes being in love with harrow and not her), who then tries to kill gideon, who has come back to life completely intact for no reason. jod fights off camilla and then dies to save his son gideon, who then becomes emperor and seamlessly unites the nine houses and blood of eden. the series ends with gideon and harrow's marriage and the birth of their infant son who is set to inherit the entire universe and can already form a perfect kidney. imperialism is never discussed or even recognized by the author. all of the characters are white except judith and camilla. the series is a number one new york times bestseller for three years in a row. it immediately gets greenlit for a netflix series.
