This comic was my contribution to a korean wx anthology, of which the theme was apocalypse.
The way I see it, when canon lwj realized his perception of the world was built upon deceptions and that he is a part of the problem, it was a downfall of a belief system, an apocalyptic end of a worldview. This is a retelling of sorts!
That being said, what lwj sees is real to him, although not necessarily true in reality. For one, the community was supposed to be surrounded by desert in his belief but that is not true to his observation. I kept the lines vague bec I'd hoped it to be up to the reader figuring it out like how lwj must learn to distinguish the two.
