Another public service announcement. This time itâs air quality. Some of you are probably in it already if youâre in eastern Canada, New England or New York, but itâs sliding south, a huge mass of wildfire smoke. Please be careful. When it starts getting bad, especially, like when the sky gets orange or brownish, itâs best to run air purifiers in the house and wear N95 or KN95 masks when you have to go outside.
It harms your lungs and itâs especially bad for children (and pets!) or anyone with health problems. There are all kinds of chemicals in that smoke. Itâs not only trees that are burning. The heat already makes it harder to breath. This makes it worse.
If any of you are experiencing it, feel free to tell about it in the comments. đ
Also, throw out the mask every day and shower before you get in bed if youâve been out or youâll be breathing the particles all night. Stuff like that. It gets all over you, your skin, your hair, your clothes.
It's a large smoke plume, so stay safe, folks. Look up how to make a "Corsi-Rosenthal Box" if you need an air purifier inside.

I finished watching Malice@doll last night, it was amazing!
One thing I donât see people talking is how Malice likes to sing. Like, this seem to be something she had done before. Like Doris mentioned how she recognize Malice because of her singing, and Heather said she would like to hear her singing one more time. So she has been doing that even when she was Doll.
And this is really important to me, because the whole movie Malice talks about her function as a doll and how her only purpose is to satisfy the clients. But here she is doing something that, probably, wasnât program to do so just because she likes to do so.
This is a contradiction to her statement: Iâll give you a kiss, is the only thing I can offer. She was always able to do other things on her own.

THIS IS IMPORTANT!!!!
KOSA IS MOVING FORWARD IN THE HOUSE!
It's part of a package called the KIDS Act, filled with digital ID and age verification and censorship!
MAKE THOSE PHONES RING!! CALL YOUR HOUSE REPRESENTATIVES ALL WEEK
202-224-3121 i HIGHLY encourage everyone to read the bills in the KIDS Act, because you will be doing more than 95% of people who read and introduce these bills
All of the bad internet bills. One website.
Happy Juneteenth everyone! I made this illustration for the Seattle Art Museum's Juneteenth celebration! It was such on honor to work on this project!
This illustration will be the backdrop to their photobooth, it was inspired by artists like Aaron Douglas and graphic arts for various jazz and motown clubs and performances. the blue of the flag is styled after a quilt featuring the North Star quilt pattern used during the underground railroad along with the Sankofa symbol among various African patterns.
I hate doing this here, but this is honestly my last hope.
We're going to lose our house unless we can pay the taxes on it, they built up the past 2 years when my gma was going thru chemo. She paid half of 2024, but still owe the other half and the full bill of 2025.
They called her this morning to say they were starting Forclosure on our house, I don't have a lot of time to get at least $600 to pay the full 2025 bill. It's $625.06 and 2024 is $394.40
I'm so sorry I have to put this here, but it's the biggest reach I have and my last resort. Please if you can donate or at least share it, I don't want to lose our home.

Conservative beauty standards are back with a vengeance which means it's especially important to go out this summer with bellies out and bodies unshaved. Also be unapologetically disabled with mobility aids and wearable medical devices and stim toys and ear defenders and all that stuff. You need it. People need to see it. Everyone needs to be reminded that life is unquestioningly more enjoyable when you're not living inside an arbitrary set of rules created by people who are offended by all the wrong things.
the christian veneration of the lamb has always been terrifying to me in ways i canât explain
hereâs this figure that is vulnerable and easily abused and whatâs admirable about it is that it doesnât fight back and it doesnât try to defend itself and itâs suffering is noble because it just sits there and takes it. pain is beautiful when you surrender to pain, suffering is godly when you donât question or try to protect yourself and survival is ugly⌠like it is just me or is anybody elseâs fucking skin crawling rn!!
yes, India made legal gender change impossible but the doctor down the street who gives me my T shots in a clinic so small that it's just two rooms was excited for me when she said my voice had dropped yes, India made legal gender change impossible but the receptionist who could see that I was a man didn't bat an eyelash when I asked to see the gynecologist and called me sir when he asked how I wanted to pay yes, India made legal gender change impossible but the barber cuts my hair exactly how I want it and never gave me strange looks for being in a men's salon not even back when I didn't pass as one
yes, India made legal gender change impossible but my friends have always gendered me correctly and stick to it even when it confuses other people and my friend's little sibling calls me older brother in Kannada yes, India made legal gender change impossible but my dog learned my new name quicker than the humans and she runs to give me a kiss when she's told to without being confused about who's being referred to
yes, India made legal gender change impossible but I can feel the Adam's apple growing in my throat and my muscles getting stronger, and my smile more real and I'm growing a beard, and I talk more freely
yes, India made legal gender change impossible but I'm here, and I'm alive, and so are you and there are good people, people who care and don't let them make you forget that-- you are not alone.
I think it's insane that even in the most leftist and "progressive" spaces the idea of equating morality with looks is alive and present and no one fucking bats an eye at it. like racists and mysoginysts are always portrayed as fat and hairy and generally unkept, as a contrast to the morally good and attractive leftists of course; people will have no problem being genuinely fucking awful about someone's appearance if they're deemed to be a "bad person". and the worst part is you point all of this out and people act like you're reading too much into things like no dude you gotta start using your brain more
Listen, I'm having fun playing with the ultra patriotic voice, but after a couple years in blue-collar landscaping jobs, you really do need to phrase things like that.
"I'm pretty sure that fella ain't here legally."
"Well, that ain't your business Chip, it's his."
They hate being preached to. If you pull out words like 'gender wage gap' they'll tell you you're brainwashed by the far left media.
"He's one of them transgenders."
"He got freedoms too, Jimmy."
Also, please understand that SO often the real issue these people have is that they just want to say something inappropriate. They don't like being told they can't say "fag", so they'd say it for a reaction, just like a teenager would.
Shut down the conversation without reacting.
"His dick, not mine" will get you much further to shutting that guy down than "well it's really inappropriate to call someone a slur while I'm the job site".
And that's the point. To shut them up. To make them quit saying shit like that. The first one makes him seem kinda weird for caring about what that guy does with his dick. The second one gives him something to fight against and make a big deal about.
code-switching matters for communicating across cultures of all varieties
Cannot overstate how many flavours of bullshit disguised as political opinion can be shut down by ânone of my businessâ or âdonât be rudeâ

i feel like whenever people discuss hatsune mikus age its always either "hatsune miku is literally 16 you cant treat her like an adult" or "hatsune miku is a piece of software with no thoughts or feelings you can do whatever" but never the imo more interesting "hatsune miku is a marketing mascot designed to be a virtual idol, what does it say about the idol industry that the people involved considered 16 to be the perfect age to assign her. why do so many vtubers played by adult women have 16 on their profile. why are so many idol anime about highschoolers. can we talk about the contexts and implications please please please please-"
and this isnt a "japan bad lol" thing theres so many characters out there who are functionally treated as adults but designated to be in their late teens. i think the oldest (official) disney princess is like. 21. its a feature of how society at large treats 16-25 as the only viable window of attractiveness yknow. the dicaprio problem. its everywhere once you look for it unfortunately and even characters i love are not exempt from reflecting the bias.
i get that americans love their cultural imperialism, but it really does piss me off that june is âinternationalâ pride month just because something happened in the united states.
in aotearoa, june isnât our pride, itâs theirs. marsha p johnson and sylvia rivera are their historical figures, not ours. the phrase that âyou owe your rights to Black trans womenâ is true there, but here we owe our rights to (mostly) MÄori historical figures. i have the freedoms i do because of the legacy of an entirely different set of people operating in an entirely different context at entirely different times.
But because of american cultural imperialism, most queer people in Aotearoa donât even know our own queer history. Carmen Rupe, Ngahuia Te Awekotuku, the Dorian Society, Gillian Laundon, Georgina Beyer, and the Wolfenden Association are some of our queer history. We should know their names! we should know what they did for us! but because of the power of the american imperial machine, we donât.
our national pride month should be july, the month that the Homosexual Law Reform Act passed in 1986. our two largest cities hold their pride festivals in february and march, respectively. american queer history has very little (or nothing, depending on who you ask) to do with our queer history. anecdotally, from my own queries, queer youth in aotearoa know more about american queer history than our own.
anyway, happy pride, americans. iâm truly sorry that most of you donât see the negative impact your nationâs culture has on the rest of the world. and to the rest of the world reading this, try searching for your own country and cultureâs queer history, donât accept the american narratives as your own. we deserve our own histories divorced from the cultural hegemony of the USA.
