Ah shit, here we go again

Remulys swirled the whiskey in his glass before raising it to his lips. The harsh bite did nothing to bring his eyes away from the sylvari they were planted on. They blazed yellow and hungry as he dragged them up her taut calves and to her full thighs. She wore skin-tight leggings almost the same color as her dark brown skin. She may as well be naked.

Oh, what a sight that would be.

An absolute pleasure.

She was speaking to the barkeep, purchasing some odds, ends, and small vials and bottles. Her nimble hands worked her sachel open to carefully place them inside. They’d make a mess if handled poorly.

But she wasn’t one to handle anything poorly. Not with those deft fingers.

Out from her bag, she produced a small, beige pouch and poured its contents onto the bar. Counting out her coins, she slid a specified amount over to the keeper, who in turn pocketed the currency.

Her lips offered a warm smile as she spoke her thanks. Another few words exchanged, and the lips turned into a lax state of seriousness. More words. Another smile and a bow of her head, and she took her leave.

Right back to his table in the corner.

She still followed him around, but he found it wasn’t quite worth asking why anymore. While he felt his wounds would need no further moderation, he truthfully didn’t care. Should he wish it, he could easily ignore her. He’s done so many times before.

Although nowadays, it wasn’t often that he did.

Upon reaching the table, she placed her hands on her hips.

Hips that swayed oh-so-perfectly when she walked. Hips that grabbed his attention several times on the daily.

She said something about needing to actually pay his running tab, or the barkeep would do something about it. He only regarded her with a bored expression.

She then turned around and walked to the stairs where, at the top, her room was located.

Love wasn’t quite a stranger to Velancea, but it was no good friend, either. Sure, she knew the idea of it. She loved her brother, and no matter his feelings towards her, she always would.

She loved Trahearne and Dragon’s Watch - they were her family; a bond she could never replace or recreate.

But to love someone in the sense of giving yourself up to another was absolutely foreign to her. She’d heard stories of it and seen it in action, but the feeling was something she’d never experienced before.

How does one know when they’re in love? How do they know that that’s what the feeling is?

Perhaps it’s in the way they laugh - be it full-bodies and loud, or a soft chuckle under their breath. Or in their sarcastic, annoying comments that could be better timed in certain circumstances.

Could it be in the way his low voice seems to cut through her every distracting thought and bring her back to reality; the way he knows when and how to take command in serious situations, and show her how to take a deep breath and relax in less taxing ones?

Maybe it’s in the way her stomach gets that weird, fluttery feeling when his violet eyes bore into her with so much emotion and attention that she can’t look away or form a coherent thought.

The way his hands feel on her shoulders when he works out the tension in her muscles; his lips lingering a little too closely to her ear when he speaks quietly with her…

Perhaps one knows they’re in love when they can’t keep their mind off the other person and focus on the task at hand; when all they want is to feel their touch and hear their voice in person, rather than over a buggy communicator; when they just want more even if they don’t know what more is because they’ve never known feelings like these.

These… gooey, fluttery, fucked up feelings that make her want to grab a bottle of whiskey for the night.

She hated them.

2. How do they wake up next to each other?

- Definitely spooning. When one turns, so does the other. Clo was annoyed by it at first - the always touching part - but she grew to love it and miss it when they aren’t sharing a bed

9. When their partner has a bad day, what is something the other picks up to try to make their day a little better?

- Trahearne will pick up a nice bottle of white wine she likes and drink it with her either in bed or on the couch

- Clodagh will pick up a light-hearted movie and a cozy blanket (and maybe some more wine) so they could cuddle up and have a nice, distracting night

10. Who runs up and hugs their partner while the other catches them?

- While it doesn’t happen often, Clodagh is more inclined to run into his arms after something big happens, like a victory or hearing good news

11. What song reminds them of each other?

- For the both of them I like to listen to The Gambler by fun.

- Clo would probably be reminded of Trahearne by “I Found” by Amber Run
