The character creator says one of the reasons Dinky got bullied was for being a guardian. They never expand on that or have any indication in-game that charr society doesn't approve of the guardians. It would have been interesting if that had come up. I could see the legions looking down on guardians because of the profession's origins in human monks invoking dwayna and balthazar. It would make sense for it to be considered kind of, well i guess we'll allow it since it's good for killing our enemies, but *blood legion bangar supporter voice* real charr shouldn't touch anything that even vaguely implies they might worship a god. It would also make luminary as an elite spec developed by the charr more meaningful

I really wish the jade bot recycling protocols were 1. a separate category from the other sensory arrays so one of each could be equipped at the same time, and 2. able to recycle junk items instantly including ones already present in the inventory on equip, instead of having to kill an enemy and have a junk item of the same type drop to activate the recycler

Wanted to introduce my norn dragonhunter Ashildr Owlsdottir! I'm working on Ydalir, the dragonscale cape, and the Jormag eye infusion for her. A lifelong follower of Owl, when she learned that owl still lived, and it gave her strength when he felt completely alone. But when owl was killed permanently by Ryland she snapped. Driven by a mix of grief and hope, after participating in the battle at the Dragonstorm, she broke into the priory archives desperately searching for any text with the slightest hint that owl could be resurrected and wasn't truly gone.
After stealing an ancient collection of scrolls on the spirits of the wild, she came to the conclusion that the spirits are born from the collective existence of the animals they represent, and the owl spirit can therefore be reborn from tyria’s living animal population with the right magic. However, still full of pain and rage, she also became convinced that the only way to purge Ox, Eagle, and Wolverine of Jormag's corruption would be to strike them down and remake them, however hard their havrouns and followers may fight it, even if all norn society would turn against her, no matter the cost. She ran off into the Bjora marches alone with no supplies, only bloodlust.
Her violent rampage against both Jormag's corrupted minions and innocent followers of the lost spirits tore through the Shiverpeaks and lead her to Drizzlewood Coast, where, starving, exhausted, gravely injured, and frostbitten, the spirit of Otter found her. Otter guided her to food and warmth, and away from danger. She recovered, slowly, until she felt ready to continue her hunt. Her battle wounds were severe, and alone in the mountains, without an experienced healer, they hadn't healed properly. The injuries had left permanent marks. She was in pain and had difficulty breathing from a svanir arrow that had pierced the back of her right lung, had lost an ear, three fingers, and several toes to the frostbite. Her left knee was tangled in scar tissue, and she was blind in one eye from corrupted ice shards lodged deeply in it. She knew it was a hunt she would never return from.
Otter tried to stop her, but she fought every step of the way to reach the Sanctum of the Wild and confront the lost spirits. When they appeared to her she lifted her hammer to bash them to death, then collapsed from her pain and passed out. Ox caught her. He let her rest against him while wolverine laid on top of her to keep her warm, and eagle stood guard against icebrood and wild animals. When she woke, she only caught a short glimpse of them before they faded away.
Ashildr was found and rescued by a small group of Crystal Bloom working to heal Drizzlewood Coast of the effects of Jormag's corruption and the charr civil war. No longer welcome in her old home in Hoelbrak, she informally joined the crystal bloom and made a new home in the mountains of Drizzlewood. When she's not working, she spends a lot of time resting and mostly keeps to herself, with the Otter spirit to keep her company. She has a lot to think about
