After stealing an ancient collection of scrolls on the spirits of the wild, she came to the conclusion that the spirits are born from the collective existence of the animals they represent, and the owl spirit can therefore be reborn from tyria’s living animal population with the right magic. However, still full of pain and rage, she also became convinced that the only way to purge Ox, Eagle, and Wolverine of Jormag's corruption would be to strike them down and remake them, however hard their havrouns and followers may fight it, even if all norn society would turn against her, no matter the cost. She ran off into the Bjora marches alone with no supplies, only bloodlust.

Her violent rampage against both Jormag's corrupted minions and innocent followers of the lost spirits tore through the Shiverpeaks and lead her to Drizzlewood Coast, where, starving, exhausted, gravely injured, and frostbitten, the spirit of Otter found her. Otter guided her to food and warmth, and away from danger. She recovered, slowly, until she felt ready to continue her hunt. Her battle wounds were severe, and alone in the mountains, without an experienced healer, they hadn't healed properly. The injuries had left permanent marks. She was in pain and had difficulty breathing from a svanir arrow that had pierced the back of her right lung, had lost an ear, three fingers, and several toes to the frostbite. Her left knee was tangled in scar tissue, and she was blind in one eye from corrupted ice shards lodged deeply in it. She knew it was a hunt she would never return from.

Otter tried to stop her, but she fought every step of the way to reach the Sanctum of the Wild and confront the lost spirits. When they appeared to her she lifted her hammer to bash them to death, then collapsed from her pain and passed out. Ox caught her. He let her rest against him while wolverine laid on top of her to keep her warm, and eagle stood guard against icebrood and wild animals. When she woke, she only caught a short glimpse of them before they faded away.
