Some quick thoughts about D2's final update:
1) Beyond grateful to the entire D2 team (devs, support, community/forum managers, etc) for all the work they've done.
2) Manifesting D3 so hard rn.
3) I can't deny I'm angry that they're adding a lot of requested changes at the literal end of the game. But I do think it's a decent sendoff, considering how hard the D2 team has been fighting for the community.
4) I also can't deny I'm heartbroken that we're ending the game at the start of a new story. Yes EoF has its issues, but I thought these hiccups were fairly normal for a game heading in a new direction. I hope we get some conclusion to the Fate saga, even if it isn't D3.
5) I'd appreciate some insight as to how long the D1 and/or D2 servers will be supported. Will both games continue to stay online? Will D1 be shuttered to make room for Marathon or future projects? Will D2 get bug fixes even after the live updates stop?
6) As for the community, I have mixed feelings, especially since I feel like the community was partially responsible for this. But I won't speak on that now. (I need to stop crying first tbh.)
7) No matter what happens, I only wish the best for the D2 team and everyone who has traveled this 10+ yr. path with me. Per Audacia Ad Astra, Infinitum.
