Other reasons PHM is epic:

also PRACTICAL EFFECTS AND LIGHTING. NOT GREEN SCREENS BUT PHYSICAL LIGHTING. YAYYYYYY

hey d2blr how do we feel about all the media we have shooould exist right. so lodi could watch PHM right. I just think... thematically... it's so perfect for him isn't it. torn away from everything against his will put into a position where he *does* do good and eventually acclimate to it but something will always be a little Off™️ because it wasn't his choice. but it can't be traded with the new friends and experiences made in this new environment...... etc etc etc...

Sorry I've been slow to answer some of y'all, I was on the phone with Mitch McConnell for 20 minutes and then I needed a few days to recover
I neeed to find out for sure if the parallel shot between alexei leonov's sunrise in space and that one sequence in PHM was intentional. There's several shots around it that remind me of other leonov paintings compositionally/+ lighting so it doesn't feel that far fetched (especially given the historical importance, and given how meticulous andy weir is, he has to be aware of at least orbital sunrise...)

The movie was very good love grace and rocky <3 also carl. But I'm so zoned in on this single shot...
Had already watched Dr. Becky's interviews with weir and what's his name I'm sorry I forgot but the guy who plays Grace. Either way I already had a decent impression of it when I didn't think I was gonna watch it... And then all the fan art convinced me because of the grace & rocky dynamic I'm so glad I wound up watching it. I don't do a lot of long movies lol
