The reason I was puzzled earlier about someone referring to Eris as disabled is because she had not just two, but three eyes last time I saw her in-game. I'm actually not as knowledgeable on Destiny's lore as you might expect (plus I have some non-visible disabilities of my own), so I straight up forgot there was a point where she didn't have any eyes. Frankly I think I forgot that she didn't always have that extra eye too–

Yeahh I mean the post is old but my understanding of it at the time was that her vision is permanently changed even once she has the hive eyes, she isn't fully blind but like... There's all sorts of blindness and visual impairments out there, and if I knew more about that and about Eris' lore I could probably better articulate what it's closest to, but...

Either way. Base assumption: her vision is canonically different post-hive + the brain can already do all kinds of wild stuff with even entirely undamaged eyes to cause visual impairment so I'd imagine adapting to alien eyes would be... An experience, to say the least

In my head she's partially blind but that post wasn't really meant to be a head canon thing. Just my limited understanding that she seems to be a character who can be counted, and why not take the most rep there can be yk

I'm technically mildly visually impaired myself and even with glasses my vision doesn't quite work the way most people's vision does,* so I'm very happy to welcome Eris to the Funky Eyeballs Club no matter what her reason for being there is

*This is another thing I genuinely tend to forget. Heck, for the first 17 years of my life I thought it was normal and that everyone's sight works like mine (aside from the stuff I need glasses for, which I also tend to forget about because, well, the glasses correct it)
