Sfw blog - discussion follows the rating of whatever media I'm talking about which is usually T/PG-14, varies a bit more lately but still no sexual content
I changed my username! formerly dredgen-dumbass formerly warp-slug once again dredgen-dumbass (D2 being ended made me want my old user back)
currently posting: mk1 is slowly taking over my brain. johnshi....... raiden.... shang tsung....
more random stuff under cut
Multishipper. Level of involvement varies by fandom but shipping isn't my main fandom interaction in any case
I am on AO3 as dredgen-dumbass but y'all I update sooooo slowly on there
Fandoms: destiny 2, rdr2, Star Trek, mash, mortal kombat, starfield
At some point this was a destiny blog but I jump focus at least once a month so y'all are just on this train with me now ok
I make fanart on occasion and post the better stuff over on @dredgen-dumbass-art-acc
Original posts can be found with #dredgenposting
I am too tired for dni lists. I block very liberally. Bigots fuck right off.
That said, I curate my space here. Please do not rb my fanart/game screenshots/memes/etc with hate towards whatever media they're of. Seeing notes on my fan stuff only to find out it's people shitting on whatever it was inspired by, is not a fun experience. Mind your manners or you will be blocked.
If you've been blocked & would like to clear stuff up, you can have a friend reach out.
f slur is very rarely present as something I reclaim, just warning you.
Asks & dms are always open :) I do not bite
Not a rp blog but I don't mind y'all interacting. Just a heads up that I may be clueless when I respond.
go check out my site, much more stuff there. I run a destiny 2 webring. if that interests you or you want to learn how to make a site, message me! :)
I do still have twitch but I haven't streamed in months & I have no idea when I'll be motivated to get back to it so just consider me on hiatus
PLACE YOUR BETS ON WHEN MY BLOG DRASTICALLY CHANGES APPEARANCE NEXT
thats all i think.🖖
if you know me irl no u don't (unless ik ur here and we're moots ofc lmao)

Really interesting and cool article which I highly recommend reading in full, about various devs retelling their favourite experiences while working on Destiny, but I do want to highlight one in particular:
Honorable mention to the lore tabs I wrote for Sparrow racers Marcus Ren and Enoch Bast; a queer fan in the deep South emailed me about how they were moved to tears by seeing same-gender relationships in the lore.
-Grant K. Roberts
Like, we all knew this. It was absolutely undeniable that Marcus and Enoch were meant to be viewed as a couple. There was literally zero doubt in my mind about it ever since I read it for the first time back in year 1.
But there's really something about being told from the author himself that this was the intended read. Especially in the world of people often denying obvious queerness just because specific labels aren't used in an over the top way where characters just say their sexualities in a way that feels unnatural and weird. I always appreciated the way Destiny did this because it forced you to take the text at face value in the same way you would have to do it for any heterosexual couple. Nobody ever expects a character to say "I am heterosexual," they just accept obvious tells in the text, but for whatever reason queer characters are never afforded the same.
Except in Destiny, which always integrated things like that so neatly into the text. And seeing people ignoring it or denying it because a character didn't show up to say "I am gay" was always frustrating, but I prefer it this way and I am so glad that writers never backed down, and instead just introduced queer characters into the story with dignity and respect that any character deserves.
And every single time anyone suspected or asked if some character is queer, the writers would just go "well yeah, that's how we wrote them, you read it correctly." And it makes the world of Destiny so much more rich with queer characters because of it. Because this is just one extra proof that whenever we suspected it, we were correct. We were always correct because queerness was always intended and written into the setting.
There's a couple of other devs that talk about this in the article, including the writer that suggested Devrim to have a husband, and a writer who pushed for Micah-10 to be in the game (with honorable mention of Robert Brookes who helped make this possible).
already doing raiden and quan chi next when i have the time but if anyone else has mk1 characters they'd like to see some gifs of lmk i'll add 'em to my list
