(and this is where the magic happens!)⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ .⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ It can be really challenging trying to connect to our intuitive selves and our art in a holistic way when we keep hitting blocks or the internal negative self talk taking hold. Happy (day after) Summer Solstice Friends!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ With the magic of the summer solstice and the start of Cancer season I wanted to share some updates along with intentions for the summer!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ As I have shared, I was let go of my full time teaching job recently. So a big intention is to LET GO. Let go of fear, grief, and any feelings towards situations or people that might be less than supportive. I know its incredibly valid to have these feelings during times of change but I have a big focus now to not dwell on them, but let them slip away with the ease at which they come. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ So you might have noticed that I am posting more now that I am out. I am taking this time as an opportunity to really focus fully on my work and my business. July 10th I am doing an art show in New York with my favorite person @miggstheartist. And this weekend I have some magical things planned (that I am excited to share in their own little post or story because there is lots of info to share!) I have also been doing shirts and designs for my new store front! I am excited to have a bonfire store for quick runs of merch (this drawing might even be making it to some sort of shirt thing if yall are into it.)⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I am scared obviously to not have the security of a full time job with benefits but I have gotten lots of messages both soft and loud to really begin pushing my art and my art workshops. I am even working on a Patreon right now so that I can start putting out all these ideas into one beautiful space.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I am also coming up with a month long container to connect people with a holistic/intuitive art practice later in the summer that I am really excited about! Where we will meet weekly to share work and the process of creating using prompts and meditations to get us into a yummy place with our creativity!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ All of this is to say that I am very excited for the future. and thankful to share it with you. Oceans Of Emotions. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ .⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Today's image is of the moon from Planetary Pause by @themythiclandscape. The waves embody the tides that come from the movement of our lunar body in the sky. Wave after wave of emotions have been hitting me. So today I wanted to share my thoughts on empathy because I find it more important than ever because I am seeing it increasingly lacking. Empathy is not always easy to utilize but it is always important. Empathy is what allows us to engage in a view outside our own with more compassion. Its more than seeing an alternative perspective its about seeing while feeling. It makes us better listeners, teachers, care takers, siblings, parents, ect. Because we can understand more deeply and more fully. When practicing empathy, we are engaging in a way to take better care of each other. Sometimes we need to sit before we react. Empathy requires that we hold space but that means we have to understand before we can fully be present in that action. Ultimately it requires us to step outside of ourselves. Even when the waves of emotions come to sweep us away. Decentralize your experience and your point of view. We need this to heal deeper. Not just for ourselves but for each other. There is so much pain right now and we need empathy so we don't add more pain to this world. Empathy leads to more radical compassion. I don't know what I am doing, but Here we go. More magic for @themythiclandscape this time from the book Planetary Pause. This was the image for Uranus. I felt called to share it today thanks to this quote by Brady about what Uranus represents: "Our social groups, communities, and networks, the places where we feel seen. The desire for progress into the future, the 'revolution' that serves the needs of the group". ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ .⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ To me Uranus has always been a hard planet to peg down. It wasn't an easy planet to draw and many times I started only to realize that what I was creating just wasn't it. I think that is because it is a planet I struggle to understand in my own chart. But I feel like now is a good time to reflect on this placement as a way to reflect on what my place in the revolution might be, and I implore you to do the same. At this time it is so important not to turn away, but turn inward to find the tools that we have at hand to support one another or to protect our communities. We have the tools. We have the ability to create change even if it is small. All acts are revolutionary when faced with the reality of the world. Big personal reflection for the moment: Right now is really hard because most of us have been disconnected from what we know as community. Community is everything, so finding community is some important exploration friend. I mean that. Its not easy, and sometimes its dark when we feel distant from where we want to be. Or feel like we are in search, in between, or ending our connection to a community for any reason. So like I said, right now things are hard. We are into the later months of what we thought was going to be only two to three weeks. Now so many months later its as if we are having to not only redefine what community looks like on an energetic level. But now we have to take extra effort around how to engage as a community. Community is a core source of support for most of us. Don't forget the real ones that stand by you even in a pandemic. And be a real one. Check on your community. I say this not only for you but for myself. it can be hard to keep motivated when we feel so isolated so don't forget the power of reaching out. It brings the whole world together. Remember that even if we are feeling alone or overwhelmed this work around our community is exciting and powerful. Happy dark moon family, Here with another thought that drives my passion for art and expression. . Imagination is reflective - When we tap into our imagination we kinda just tap into the mirror of our mind. We can see any reality we want. And what reality we create is about us, our shadows, our lights, our highs, our lows. The world you can imagine is the world you can create. So its not just a mirror its a tool that we need in order to manifest. What comes up for us as we dream can be scary or real or joyful but oddly enough its mostly just a strange dive into the self that comes up when we are not paying attention. When we turn off our inner voices and just channel what is authentic to our expression we are allowing ourselves to peer into our hearts. Thats pretty rad man.
